Not sure it'll make that much difference, customers must know that the bills are on there way but still seem to be spending as much as ever, or at least ordering as much, perhaps they are returning most of it.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jan 2025, 20:01You've got the credit card bills going out fairly soon. That'll cause the number of packets to drop off. The economy will determine how much they drop off by

Usually Amazon parcels drop off this time a year as there drivers can cope with the amount but about 80% of our parcels are Amazon parcels

There seems to have been a slight drop off in our office, not sure if the bad weather in some areas is contributing to it?

You have to remember No Two Delivery Offices are the same Mr Rush. Some areas weren't effected as much by the changes to the pipeline. My areas not too bad and we're probably only running about half an hour later than we used to be.
It's above our Pay Grade but when they decided to chop and change the pipeline the easiest option (for them) seemed to be to simply say to thousands of Posties, ''You're just going to have to start later.... Tough Tit''! It would have been nice to have some Higher Management that could have handled it better.

Parcels still absolutely mental today, nearly 3 weeks after Christmas I thought it would have calmed down somewhat! Has Royal Mail won more contracts on parcels recently? If this parcel volume is here to stay then our office is screwed for this whole year as far as mail being delivered is concerned.

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
It is companies still pushing online january sales, they will try and keep it going for as long as possible, coupled with alot of people & some schools not going back to work until the middle of last week / NY ordering rush etc.
As i said earlier in the thread by jan 20th it will be dead as a dodo.

RM are pushing for every contract going for parcels, as they should be, which in turn is overloading us with parcels.
Now if come the 20th it's as dead as a dodo i will come on and apologise and bow before your greatness.

How do you actually sort small packets in a MC?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 10:11Packets have already started dropping off. Small packets section getting times again when they run out of work
It looks to our Delivery office that you have two yorks, one marked "that's about right" and the other "oh just chuck it in there".
Not much is actually *sorted*

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
Nearly all the parcels that come in our office still need sorting out into the various sections and then sorting again into the walks. For some reason I thought that these giant hubs would have automation that would mean that all our parcels would automatically be sorted into our walks so they didn't have to pay anybody to come in early or do any IPS. Parcel automation hasn't really saved anything in delivery offices other than have us all start and finish later.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
Our parcels all come in mixed as well. Large parcels in Yorks with small ones it’s a right mess. Then they need sorting into sections and again to walks it all takes a while in the morning.
