Oh, I was so naïve. I thought to myself last night, 'Now that Puke is out of the way we can get back to clearing the duty everyday'.
The machine stops.

Hahaha i am not surprised in the slightest with how this is going.
They are trying for every contract for parcels going, probably telling them all that the USO is going and we can cope with the workload.
Meanwhile at the coalface, with no extra personnel to cope with the influx of parcels, the place falls to bits.
They really aren't very bright, one of the first rules of business "don't overextend yourself" in other words don't take on more than you can cope with.

I thought something had to be up. When our DPR routes were introduced they maybe got 100 drops max on a Monday. Now there’s 50% more drops and parcels are failingscotchy1962 wrote: ↑06 Jan 2025, 19:03Hahaha i am not surprised in the slightest with how this is going.

I agree and it's not the drivers fault being expected to achieve 20 drops per hour in the dark on a route you don't know well.We have that going on. It’s impossible to get through all the parcels in your time.
But management are committing fraud and getting away with it.

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
Our DPRs start at 1400 and I agree with previous posters that it is impossible to get it all done. By the time you've sorted them into sectors, decided whose doing which sectors, found a van, scanned them and numbered them it can be 4pm by the time you get out. Then theres the school run /rush hour traffic and a long drive to the first drop. Sometimes managers casually say oh just take those two yorks as if its nothing but then the pda tells you theres over 6 hours worth. Inevitably people get trigger happy on inaccessables. I'm not knocking on peoples doors after 9pm, they don't like it. I've already terrified a few pensioners. Then theres the farms, traveller sites and other hard to get too and badly lit places. I was chatting to the other dpr drivers and they all say the same. Its just impossible unless you start door stepping or chucking them over back gates like certain competitors do. So we have to bring a few back, not many just a few if the most awkward ones such as places with pedestrian access only, or farms. Most of us are only contracted to work 5 hours but end up doing 7 or 8. The drops are often scattered across a wide are so 10 to 12 an hour is all thats doable. Plus you can't see the door numbers in the dark

Do your Drivers realise that there is a ''DELIVERY NOT ATTEMPTED'' option on the PDA menu? Our CSP staff were using the ''No Answer'' & ''No Access'' options until they were caught out
We now enter our own ''Delivery Not Attempted'' when we return to the office, it stops a lot of customer complaints the following day when they say, ''I stayed in all day and nobody knocked'' of course the Managers don't like it because it shows up on their bosse's laptop, and they get told off for not delivering all the Tracked!

Do you realize that any failed delivery's the afternoon DPR (Mostly Agency) bring back in the evening are scanned as per the managers Instructions, hence my comment about fraud.
And these drivers also mark as inaccessible when they have to park away from the delivery address and walk with the items, too lazy to do the job properly.
And please do not quote me as saying something I did not, thank you.
