And if you say you weren't driving the van and it was your partnet then the manager will want to know why you didn't add them as a driver when you did the van check.annem wrote: ↑14 Dec 2024, 18:28Wrong!!!! If your colleague jumps in it and drives off WITHOUT your knowledge, IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. It's their responsibility. And I'd take it to court to prove it. What you said is like saying if someone steals your car and crashes it it's your fault. Disciplined is such an old-fashioned word. It's laughable. You'd think we were bloody kids!

Re: Trimble
In our office you get called in for a "chat" with the manager if your driver score is around 93% which is ridiculous, he expects at least 96% as acceptable.. you get moaned at for speeding or acceleration yet they put you under pressure to get all the tracked done before you get back..

Reading this I'm now thankful we have some vans without trimbles...even if they are utter shitboxes.

Re: Trimble
What's the punishment for the odd bit of speeding, like going 30mph in a 20mph zone or 70mph in a 60mph zone for a brief amount of time, when the rest of your driving for the day is 98% at or below the speed limit...
I'd assume a slap on the wrist and once slapped on the wrist X amount of times - possibly sacked?

You can’t be conducted or disciplined for anything on the Trimble or PDA. They can simply give you soft advice or some training.norris9 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2024, 07:41What's the punishment for the odd bit of speeding, like going 30mph in a 20mph zone or 70mph in a 60mph zone for a brief amount of time, when the rest of your driving for the day is 98% at or below the speed limit...

We have people who have been taken off driving for repeat speeding offences on Trimble.

Permanently? We had a few speeders but they got taken off for a few weeks then re-instated once it got busy or they needed some people for parcel overtime.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑18 Dec 2024, 15:50We have people who have been taken off driving for repeat speeding offences on Trimble.

Surely that was enough for them to learn their lesson and keep within the speed limit in the future?Perseus wrote: ↑18 Dec 2024, 18:28Permanently? Was called into the managers office today, my drivers score was 92% due to my acceleration been to high, was told to do better.. to me 92% is still a good score, but he expects everyone to be around 97%.. if you can't get a conduct for it then why does it matter so much to the managers

We have people who have been taken off driving for repeat speeding offences on Trimble.
If someone was involved in a fatal accident and it could be shown that Royal Mail had prior proof that the person was an unsafe driver (for example Trimble showing they were speeding on multiple occasions) Royal Mail could find themselves held responsible for the accident.
I think they call it corporate manslaughter.
It is partly to cover their own backside.

Re: Trimble
You’ve escalated it to a fatal accident?! Trimble dara will be irrelevant in that instance. The Trimble is too inaccurate and there are too many variables which it knows nothing about, for it to have any relevance in a situation where there is a fatality..clashcityrocker wrote: ↑19 Dec 2024, 06:12Why?Barnacle wrote: ↑18 Dec 2024, 19:43That’s ludicrous.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑18 Dec 2024, 15:50

I don’t think that the version of Trimble which RM uses, gathers enough data to be used in any legal context, which is why it can only be used for advising people on their driving.
Having said all of the above, I don’t think people being flagged up as repeatedly speeding is irrelevant of itself.
