Some duties are now being instructed to prioritise T24 over 48. I don't think RM2000 frames were designed with a 600% call rate in mind.
The machine stops.

We don't seem to have so many setups for sorting packets, especially small packets

You speak some truth. But perhaps you do indeed live in a bubble and don’t realise what is going on in the outside world. Even on the paltry new-entrant Ts and Cs — on which I myself am employed — this job pays far more than any other unskilled job out there. I’m quite happy earning almost a grand a week over christmas (with a good measure of ot).Mazdaman wrote: ↑14 Dec 2024, 18:17My daughter is 18 and works in a cafe during uni . But It is grim outside the bubble, trust me. Families bringing in £80k pa are finding things tough and finding it impossible to support their families. It is a country-wide problem called the cost-of-living crisis.
Does your daughter’s cafe employer provide her with a similar pension to your RM one? Does she receive six months’ full pay in the event of sickness etc?? Don’t think so.
You’re comparing apples with pears, mate. If you’re that embarrassed with your lot, why not go and work in a cafe yourself? Someone else will gladly fill your RM boots…

Some are slightly higher, some lower.
But newbies are no longer getting uniform when they start, just a storm proof coat.
Why would RM do that, you can answer that question & I will look forward to that!

Martin Walsh said it was just over 25% of new entrants leaving left within the first 90 days and 17% of those employed since Dec 2022 have left the business.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Assuming you are on a the new contract of 30 hours and on £14.78ph like me you're doing a 12 hour day compared to my 7 hour day.I’m quite happy earning almost a grand a week over christmas (with a good measure of ot).
We must bow down to you for earning £52K a year in such a menial job.
If you are are on the lower rate @£12.78 then you are doing a 14 hour day over 5 days.
You crack on and earn that grand a week I'm happy with £590 and a life.
