I love Christmas on the post, I am actually delivering things people want. Luckily I am in one of the best delivery offices in the country, we clear just about everything every day, lots of docket kings happy to take up any excess work that's removed from colleagues who can't complete. A DOM who is on our side and is approachable.

I read the horror stories on here and can't imagine working in the hell holes that many describe.

Parcels have been right down this week compared to last for my walk.
Last week I was bringing 20-30 Tracked back a day unattempted and all I was taking was parcels some days. We were getting 200+ a day.
This week we've been around 130-160 a day between two of us which is what we were getting in October.
I have a theory that my refusal to prioritise Tracked until a manager grows a pair and puts it in writing has led to them keeping a york aside and giving it to afternoon or agency staff as other posties seem overwhelmed. I don't start til late so don't see what happens pre 9 o'clock and there are always a dozen or so yorks set aside for the afternoon lot.

Don't know if it's just a case of more direct yorks to DOs (which go straight from the artic to the lorry going to the DO), but it seems like parcels aren't as busy as they used to be. We don't seem to have so many setups for sorting packets, especially small packets

Certainly business as usual here as far as the amount is concerned, can you tell by the labels on the Yorks ? They usually go straight in the recycling bin but I'll try have a look out of interest for you on Monday if you can tell the difference.

No OT and very little good will towards this company since privatization. Dont forget with the help of the Union they took away our T&C and paid significantly less than inflation pay rise. I dont work harder for less money at my age, so they can spin. I take about 70 to 80 packets a day and always finish on time. It does not matter to me how much is in the office, that's the bosses problem.

Weve got a lot of posties complaining about how late they finished and the fact that they're knackered .... Why I ask, you do realise that Christmas for us is basically 2 days off (and one of them might be your day off anyway)

No extra cash this year but the Advent Calendar of Crap! AND we've got people getting excited about that would you believe, are we all becoming morons to fall for this Royal Mail Bullshit?

Just tell your Manager you won't be able to complete, finish at your time and BRING IT BACK! Pace yourselves, don't getted stressed and enjoy YOUR break with Family & Friends.

Has to be the saddest post i' have had the pleasure of reading in quite some time, "it's meant to be difficult" really? Is that your reasoning behind trying to call someone lazy for not doing o/t.
They tip you for your year round service and usually because you have built up a rapport with them. 60 hr weeks in December you "did", as in the past so not anymore? So you have no idea what our workload is at the moment.
I regularly did 60 hr weeks the whole year round, but not anymore as it's too much for my body now so i am one of the lazy upperclass posties.

The direct ones should be purple and white with your DO named on them.
