Royal Mail Abbreviations/Acronyms
I remember seeing a link on here to a site that had a list of some of the more well known Royal Mail abbreviations/acronyms. I've tried searching for it but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know the one I mean?

Thanks, Glen! This is the one I meant: http://www.hellmail.co.uk/postalnews/te ... 5&zoneid=8
Still, there are a few on there I can't see. Is there a thread on here with something like this? Otherwise, what is/are:
IPS
RLE
PHG
RDC
Many thanks!

WTLL - Work Time Listening and Learning Session
or as we call it - Work Time Lecture and Lies Session
Cut Off (when unable to complete delivery)
Christmas Pressure (when RM are surprised by the sudden increase in mail volumes during December) not to be confused with Autumn Pressure, Spring Pressure, or basically anytime of the year except summer when mail volumes are meant to be lighter.

You just sign for it the same as any other duty, at least this is how it works in our office. We have just had a resign and our two PHGs are the last two on the seniority list as no one want to do it. You don't get any extra money for it altough there used to be a PHG allowance I believe.dohnut wrote:How do you become a phg? is it based on length of service?. And do you get more money?
