Not as bad as yesterday in terms of weight, but so short of people that we were on the IPS until well after 09:00 didn't finish 'til about 16:20. But...... a days leave booked tomorrow as I am off to the all nighter at the Twisted Wheel tonight - all you soulies out there - KEEP THE FAITH.

all throwing walks out for part time staff or going off early to be back in time for S.A. driving duties

Thats s**t mate,its havin a knock on effect on the rest of the office,the part timers should be full time and no way should them drivers get away with it so they can do there docket.The blokes would go mental at our place if that sort of crap was going on.

Dead right it is - but we have a few changes in the pipeline that will ease the situation.

Had a good day today, my day off Yesterday was a mare, loads of stuff back, much of it turned to mush a few shitty customers, one wanting to collect her 'special', no ID, got the right hump 'its really important' she said 'its my hairdryer' still did'nt let her have it. After her was a bloke, left his 739 at home so would'nt let him have his item either, he spent 45mins standing outside callers ringing Customer Complaints, would've been quicker and cheaper for him to drive home and collect it, apparently he phoned customer services and they told him it would be ok for him to collect it, in the end customer services phoned me and apologised for 'their mistake' and told me to let him have the item Don't know why I bother, may aswell leave the door open and let the customers help themselves

k66yla - you have my sympathy I have been stuck in the callers office for the last 2 weeks and I hate it with a passion.

I will go mad if I hear and of the following again. and the 2nd bits is what I want to say to them.

"Well its mine I know who I am" - I don't and you don't have an ID so you ain't having it.

"The postman should bring it straight back" - they still get upset when you point out the time limit on the back and how do they expect a postman to bring a prio straight back and still deliver everyone else's mail on time.

"I want to collect this parcel" - Sorry the sign says Royal Mail. We are not parcel force, Lynx, DHL or City Link you will have to call them to get it redelivered.

"Why should I pay the £1.00 surcharge" - Cos you won't get it otherwise - Mumpty

"Its really important" - You should have remembered to bring the Red Form then.

"My ID is inside there you can check it" - - No you pratt I am not allowed to open your mail.

"Well I am not leaving till I get it" - Its physically not here I have apologised and I have or I will alert a manager who will call you - Now get out my face.

"What time will it arrive when you redeliver it" - What am I a fortune teller.

"Why is it not here" - Well its to do with physics, an entity cannot be physically in 2 places at once or the world will end.

I'm surprised some of our customers have the ability to breath they are sooooooooo thick, roll on 21st I'm off for a week and due to someone elses mistake my colleague is off the same week and our rest day cover is off that week aswell, shame no ones mentioned it to the managers

Crap day today, figured i'd roll in early , around 8:40 so i can get a head start on the packets, maybe bundle the round of flats I have seen as they rarely get mis sorts. So i get to my frame... everything seems fine, few flats to throw in but no biggy. Packet bag? Very little in it.... i'm on a winner here!!! i'll be home by 12.

Little did i know that this seemed a little too good to be true for RM, and i kinda figured with how backwards they are, they probably have april fools a day later. And i was right. At 10 past 9 when i was just ready to bundle the rest up and get the hell out, DOM comes to me and hands a full freaking pile of stuff still to throw in. So i had to throw back in what i'd bundled and start again. Got out the office for 10:20, i can hardly believe i got back in time before the DO shut.

Is this normal or should i be complaining? I know i'm part time and worth the s**t of the earth to RM, but i don't see why my mail should be left for me to deal with at half past 9 when the rest of the office is out on their bikes already.

I have to do my own. I start off with a completely empty frame, and do the lot myself, by the time I'm banding up the driver who takes my bags is breathing down my neck wanting to be away. It usually takes me 3 hours and the walk is over 3 hours, usually at least 3 1/2. Yet...I'm on a 25 hour contract. If you can work that out, explain it to me will you?

If you're on part time hours and you're spending 3 hours putting your walk in you're getting shafted mate. My walk is around 3 1/2 hours and i barely get back to the office before it shuts, so i'd imagine you're busting your ass for nothing. Especially if you ain't claiming overtime, in which case i'd be having serious words.

I would like mr leighton office address as i seriously want to send a long letter listing my complaints on the way his managers is handling this business, I have a friend of mine who deals with disability discrimination, he is willing to handle it for me as well.
I am seriously thinking of whilstle blowing to a newspaper or two and heck with my job, I much rather have a low paid job and be happy then have a job where you know you get taken the mick out of by managers for being disable. The too much discrimination going on with managers vs regular posties and unless its sorts itself out we are all buggered

Generally yeah, theres about half the office left, most people tend to be gone for half 9, which isn't surprising as the shout for miss sorts barely goes out for then. Our van drivers aren't usually gone until ten. Some part timers i know come in early to get home earlier but at the moment i'm thinking why bother, i just end up having to finish more of my frame.

If you want over time and the extra pay i would say you're not onto a bad thing there, provided you get paid what you want. Beats the hell out of doing other random things like deads, or an extra walk, not to mention you can sort your walk properly, the amount of miss sorting i get on my walk from randoms throwing it in for me is quite a lot.

Got to one of my drop points today,picked up my drop bag and put it in my pouch,then thought "whats that strong smell of dog s**t".Only to find to my horror the kindly driver has dragged my bag along the pavement instead of picking it up (it was only 8kg) so on the bottom of the bag was half a ton of dog s**t,or there would have been only it was now all over my trousers,shirt and HANDS!!

TEN?! That would be perfect for me, I'd be able to take my time, at the moment i get dirty looks at 8:30 if my bags don't look close to being ready.

Yes, I don't mind the extra dosh, but I think it'll be questioned why it's every day. Not my problem really, the drivers will just have to go out later.

Oh mate what a nightmare Thats is bad luck imho and something that thank god has never happened to me.Bin those trousers and shirt and ask yer driver to be a bit carefull next time
