It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

We were told this morning that the majority of units in the country are in disarray, which is odd because I don't see 7,000 DOs listed here.

I’ve always been amazed that ours hasn’t appeared. Almost as if they were being a tad dodgy with recording fails.

The office i work in has finally made the list out of 70 duties only 2 have had any mail delivered in the last 8 days they cancelled overtime 2 weeks ago and threw all the budget at the agency workers they have now realised on average 20 agency drivers are doing an average of 42 parcels in a 6 hour delivery window influx of managers just delivering just mail not one has completed a duty we had two managers from another office yesterday out of 106 tracked they managed 7 these figures are from our manager who is on the verge of a breakdown asked anybody if they are interested in working sunday just 2 put there name forward i actually feel sorry for him he is just following orders we had a full revision 2 months ago and 98% of the duties are undoable on an average day.

It's baffling how RM just allows Amazon to dump all their excess on them, so have to contend with additional Black Friday items from their usual suppliers and all Amazon's excess on top, and expect a handful of additional agency staff at each DO to deal with the excess.

My entire walk failed today. It was recorded as only a third failing. When I questioned it was told the boss wouldn't be happy if he heard the entire walk failed.

Where there continue to be issues in relation to USO and Workplan failures across Delivery Offices it is important that the correct and jointly agreed processes are followed, the department would also request that we be informed of such instances to ensure these can continue to be raised with Royal Mail at the highest level...
LTB 078/17 - Royal Mail & CWU National Joint Statement Avoiding Delay (Commit to Deliver) and Reporting Standards
USO Requirements
1. All mail which is prepped for delivery must then be delivered for USO to be met
2. Any delivery route, which is less than 100% complete must be accurately reported as a USO
failure via Delivery Office Daily Reporting (DODR) This includes:
• Failure to deliver any mail defined as prepped, or failure to fully complete a delivery route (e.g.
due to cutting-off, sick absence, road closure, dog at large). This should be reported as a USO
failure unless the affected address is already classified as a USO exception
• Any incomplete loop(s) on an individual route constitutes one part walk failure against that route,
part loop failures must not be rolled up and reported as a single full walk failure
• If parcels are taken out on delivery but returned without having had delivery attempted, then
these must be reported as part route failure(s)
• Items returned that could not be delivered due to Controlled Entry must be correctly handled in
accordance with the Controlled Entry Systems Operational Specification
• Follow the agreed USO Exceptions process to address issues relating to our inability to access
delivery points

I get stick for how apparently perfect my office is, but even we have walks uncovered at the moment, which has never happened during Christmas pressure in my 20+ years there. I can believe what your manager says.

I have done this recently. The result was a good number of stressful (for the local management) visits from senior types from outside of the operations chain of command.
Questions were asked. Correct procedures were explained, management was taught to count.
We suddenly rightfully appeared on the list for a few days until the OPL's hand was forced into providing some support.
We're still in a mess but it feels more honest...for now.

Reporting a miss sort or dog at large letter seems a bit excessive but fudging the numbers of cut offs and mail left in is a bit fraudulent. Clearly many rounds are unachievable and won’t get touched this time of year.
