A VILLAGE postman paid a special visit to celebrate his birthday and say hello to local schoolchildren who look forward to his arrival each day.
Henry Stevenson, 60, from Trowbridge, visited North Bradley CE Primary School in Church Lane, North Bradley, on March 27 after being invited by the children.
Although he arrived a little late everyone at the school was very pleased to see him.
Mrs Janette O'Brien, head teacher said: "Henry is a very special part of the village community. All the children know him well and they appreciate the job he does.
"They like to see him arrive in the morning with the post and he will often stop to have a glass of water part way through his round.
"People like that need to be celebrated so when we knew he was approaching 60 we decided to invite him here to receive cards and share a piece of cake.

"He was delighted and a little overwhelmed when we sang happy birthday."
