24 mins earlier from next week but that might not be possible for all and we’ll probably end up waiting on mail to arrive from the Mc anyway.

Dispatch times won't be changing so what's the point in DOs starting earlier? If they're going to make the days longer in DOs then they should make the finishes later

Not really, we are having a vote to decide the new seasonal start/finish times.

I just hope someone somewhere is logging all of these variations and knows where we are up to in terms of working the correct hours over 1 financial year.

Can anyone honestly say they know where they are up to.

Wasn't there a guy on here about 3 months ago who claimed we were way out ?
I vaguely remember them saying that after these next five weeks everything will be balanced out and we will all have worked the correct amount of hours.

If they persevere with it next year I reckon it might be a lot simpler. 5 shorter weeks in August and 5 longer weeks in the lead up to Christmas. I don’t think the workload at any other time of the year varies enough to justify shorter or longer weeks.
After we do these seasonal hours they will owe us time back in summer.

I dont understand if its allegedly quiet on delivery through the summer, surely its quiet indoors too, so why aren't distribution not doing similair?

Nice of you to want DO's out until even later than they currently are, so that a 4pm finish becomes nearly 4:30?
Many offices got moved an hour or more start times, so can easily absorb a 24 minute earlier start.
Equally, offices that moved 30 minutes or thereabouts will probably be ok for work too.
If, going into peak season an office starts 24 minutes early and there isn't any work to do, then I hate to say it, but the powers that be will probably look to adjust your core times so that seasonal variation (which is the whole point of the exercise) makes a difference.

Because that was the agreement.

To be clear to all on here about this.

The high season starts next week and finishes the week before Christmas so 5 weeks in total.

It is time we owe them.

This part of seasonal variation was only ever meant to be added to the start of shifts so absolutely no one should have it added at the end.

I would have thought every office would jump at the chance to go back to an earlier start time, albeit for 5 weeks only.

They just make it up as they go along. Summer was 9 mins later start 15 mins earlier finish for us now it’s all about the early start. If they’re going to carry on with this next year they should at least be consistent.

Royal Mail don't care how constant changes affects their employees. By overloading us with continual change staff often react by withdrawing and become less engaged. Everything is constantly being micro-managed and brought up in daily huddles by managers and it leads to cynicism, low morale, higher stress levels and burnout.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
