Mail centre closures.

Post by wolfman »

Been told in work time learning there is going to be some more mail centre closures. An announcement is going to be made in April as to which ones. Anybody else been told this?

Didn;t they say that a mail center or 2 would have to close when the midlands super hub opened, so my guess would be one down that way and maybe one near the northwest super hub.

Other than those near the superhubs what other mail centers are not needed ? or have leases due ?

You still have work time learning? We stopped having it at the start of Covid and not had it since. We don't have any huddles either.

Yes still have them. Its weird how some do & some don't. U would think they would all be stopped seeing as we are losing money as a company & they are a complete waste of time & man hours.

I just wondered if no other centre had informed the staff, that could be a clue as which ones were doomed :hmmmm

We don't have WTL still but do have huddles before the start of the shift, just a few min huddle to state what sort of volume we have incoming and any news or safety news

My guess that any MC's that don't have a PSM are possibly on borrowed time.

Every MC is due to get a PSM at some point. They need to be custom made for each MC

I don't think having a parcel machine will stop closures. Royal Mail aren't exactly unknown for throwing money at something and then deciding it wasn't what they wanted after all.

CSS machines in MPUs being one of them.

Won’t take long for a PSM to be dismantled though! Not much to it!
