Collections and Network Driver

Post by 00cactus »

Hi there,

I have recently applied for this position and have been shortlisted for an interview.

Could anybody please give me any more information about what this role entails?

E.g. How long the shifts are, how much of the shift will be walking on foot, strict time schedules, how many collections would I do in a day, will i end up at a different depot by the end of my shift, etc.

Also a bonus: Is this role "better" than the postperson with driving; or better worded, who would this role be better for?

Any information or previous experience/encounters would be helpful. Thank you in advance!

How long the shifts are, that should be shown on the job advert, usually it's in the afternoons and a 4 or 5 hour shift

how much of the shift will be walking on foot, none apart from walking to and from your van but you still need to be reasonable fit to carry the collections to your van and unload it when you return to the DO

strict time schedules, collections have to made in strict accordance with the times on shown on the PDA

how many collections would I do in a day, depends on the hours worked, it could be 30+

will i end up at a different depot by the end of my shift, etc. unlikely
