Call or email your area rep and tell him/her directly about the issues and lack of a rep. If you have no rep, you really do have no say. Someone in your office must surely have the tough no nonsense attitude to be the rep?

Then there will be no union. Then what? Each goes it alone and just takes their chances?

Problem being the Union are no longer representing the members best interests. That is local on the shop floor as well as national.

They are silent on unrealistic workloads as well as new starters being put at a financial disadvantage compared to their colleagues.

People have now had enough of them decomposing sitting on the fence.

Trouble is a lot of people see the union as being non-existent anyway. Last time the list of all reps in all positions at all office in the MC area was put up, probably 80-90% of DOs didn't have a rep

One of the reasons why there are no local reps anymore is that they have had enough of no support from branch officers on full time release. That makes them look bad with the members asking for advice on the shop floor.

With these Two- tier inferior contracts for new starters agreed by the CWU is hardly an endorsement to become a rep.

It is an obscenity you can have two people doing exactly the same job and one losing over a grand a year in wages

It's ridiculous that managers are telling us to prioritise Tracked and our rep hasn't stood up to it....

It means that when we are running late we have to cut off to focus solely on Tracked and therefore bring back tonnes of mail.

The rep needs to hold the manager to RM’s own agreement.

If you search their posts they retired with IHR after 30+ years service and yet still spend their retirement here complaining about the union. Another wind up merchant.

I leave the union 1 or 2 times a year for about 6 weeks & then rejoin at least you can vent your anger & have your little rant & usually a visit from your area rep when passing, the last few times I have done it via email it's almost instant with the line "you no longer represent the company I work for"
