A fire that could be seen for miles has broken out at a Evri parcel depot.
Avon Fire and Rescue has urged locals to keep their windows and doors shut as thick plumes of smoke rose into the sky.
Evri says everyone at the depot is safe, and that "very few" parcels were on site, with vans out and about completing deliveries. The firm has not said whether any parcels were destroyed.
The parcel depot is located at the Access 18 industrial estate around seven miles from Bristol city centre.
A spokesperson from Avon Fire and Rescue said: "We currently have 16 appliances in attendance at a warehouse fire in Avonmouth.
"If you live and work in the local area, we’d advise you to keep your windows and doors shut.
"Crews remain on scene to tackle the fire. Please be advised to avoid the local area where possible around St Andrews Road, Avonmouth."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service Trust said: "We were called at 13:52hrs today to a warehouse fire at Avonmouth. 'We have sent a commander and hazardous area response team to the scene."
