So on the days when theres no 'footwalk' is it just large parcels or all the small packets as well?
Both, and first class letters on 3 walks.
3 walks? Making the delivery 50% bigger do you mean?

They say that the new walks will be "smaller" because you are hitting more houses. I will be surprised if they go back to pre park and loop sizes, i.e my duty has gained a full row.

Is there a time frame for this new miraculous new way of working to come in? We're currently in the middle of a revision, what's the point if they're going to change everything again in the near future?

According to the rmtv video, 12 months for regulation change, and then 18 to 24 months for implementation.

By that time a new Government will be in & they will be asking to drop Saturdays as well.

Saturday's are being dropped in the proposal, you only need 1 in 3 staff on a Saturday.

Apart from the odd eBay order virtually every packet is now Tracked, that's around 40 to 50 Tracked on each walk most days, so 150 for 3 walks on a Saturday etc plus also 1st class letters & non tracked parcels, on the present sized walks you could be looking upwards of 200 drops across the 3 walks. Did anybody think about asking somebody if this was at all doable??

much like the revisions, i doubt this being doable is high on the agenda. There will be a public statement what its supposed to be, whilst reality in the delivery offices will be very different

I was also wondering about the Saturday workload too. At the moment a good trick is to send out one postie with 2 walks of tracked/parcels. They're expecting that one postie to then do tracked, parcels, collections, boxes, specials and first class letters for 3 walks on their own! f***ing hilarious.

40-50? I get Minimum 100 on a Monday and Tuesday, 150+ on a Wednesday. Just on one walk

No need to worry as all walks will be "slightly smaller"!

1c post apparently also includes letters, magazines and birthday etc cards, so Saturday "parcel" duties sound like a complete nightmare.
