Smile for the camera!
Arrived for work this morning to find a film crew making a propaganda film for Royal Mail about later start times. The funny thing was, we had just had a union meeting in the car park of the firm next door to remind people not to start before the official time. As we all walked into the office, the production team was filming. The Goons had picked a few of our more compliant colleagues to speak to the cameras. You know the type. The ones who would tell the guards which hut the escape tunnel was being dug in for a handful of rice. A few of us told the crew exactly what we thought of later starting times, but they weren't going to film that. A few others passed them notes of a similar nature. The thing is, this film will not give a balanced view. It will not mention we were lied to about later arrival times. It will not mention those workers who have to be home to mind young children when their partners have to leave for work. It will not mention the customers who are no longer in to receive packets, SD etc and who now have to call up to the office to collect them. It will not mention us having to work through the hottest part of the day. They'll drop as many pouches off as you want, but don't ask them to drop a cold drink off! They won't mention you having to race around on Saturdays because you want to take the kids out somewhere or watch a football match. If this film goes out, just tell your mates, it's about as reliable as a Tory election manifesto. You thought Goebells was dead, but his spirit is alive and well and working for Royal Mail.

The fact that they feel the need to make this film to convince us in the first place shows how weak their position is.

As well as the fact that out of about ninety people, they could only find a couple of muppets to speak up for it.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:The fact that they feel the need to make this film to convince us in the first place shows how weak their position is.
