MESSAGE FROM GROUP CEO MARTIN SEIDENBERG:

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Gilthorpe as Chief Executioner of Royal Mail Group.

Emma will join the company on 1 May 2024 and will spend a few leisurely weeks pretending to take an interest in the business before I hand over all responsibility for the forthcoming debacles to her in the summer. During this period I will continue as interim CEO of Royal Mail Group.

Emma is currently Chief Operating Officer at Heathrow Airport where she has been responsible for ruining many of your holidays.

Emma is a seasoned executive and brings extensive experience of winging it in large, complex, high profile but very poorly regulated infrastructure businesses. She has an impressive track record of changing things for no particular reason whilst cutting costs as dramatically as possible, so she will be perfectly positioned to deliver our transformation whilst continuing to degrade quality of service.

I know she will pretend to bring a customer and employee-centric approach to delivering Royal Mail’s transformation, and I look forward to working closely with her to ensure Royal Mail has as much cash wrung from it as possible.

When she begins Emma will be spending a bit of time visiting Royal Mail, Parcelforce and GLS sites not too far from London, so that she can see all aspects of our operation and get to know how truly dreadful a state the business is in. I know Emma can’t wait to get started and drive as many of you as possible out of the business over the coming months.

Please do lube up well when she joins on 1 May.

So she was in charge of running an Airport which makes her about as unqualified as all the other numpties they've employed to run Royal Mail!
