Does anyone know what happens if a current employed staff member goes to court and gets a criminal record?
I.e been working at RM for years with clear DBS check then suddenly go to court for something and end up with a criminal record, do you get dismissed? Or keep your job?

Merely having a pending case against you can be enough for the company to dismiss you these days. Depending on the nature of the alleged crime (and potential media coverage), that may constitute bringing the employer into disrepute.
Thanks.
I don’t have any pending court cases, just wondered what would happen if someone did, it can happen to anyone,
go out for a “spirited drive” on a sunday afternoon and have a crash etc
I have heard that getting any kind of criminal record will terminate your employment at RM.
Thanks.

Was just curious to know.
A motoring conviction isn't a criminal conviction?
Thanks.

It is when it is a “spirited drive” (or wined/cidered drive) — see section 4 of the Road Traffic Act 1988!
Each case should be considered on its own merits. The wording is something like “If the alleged criminal behaviour may make you unsuitable for the work you do for the business consideration should be given as to whether action should be taken”
Something like a conviction for being drunk and disorderly you will probably be fine. Something that involves high levels of violence or burglary or theft you will probably be on much shakier ground.
We had a guy done for drink driving a couple of years back and he just had to be the non-driver in a van-share until he got his license back. Might be different now of course.
