None of those sources ‘prove me wrong’. Not one talks of trading being suspended and the administrators called in. There’s a reason for that.

A business doesn’t automatically go into administration or get wound up just because it makes a loss. It will have capital, assets and credit facilities.

Royal Mail made a loss in 2022/2023. It made a loss in the first half of 2023/2024.

The forecast was to break even in 2023/2024 and return to profit in 2024/2025.

Royal Mail has handed about £2,000 million to "shareholders" since it was massively undersold at privatisation.

Not to mention countless millions in salary, perks, and payoffs to failed executives.

It is a profitable enterprise, it's just being bled to death by parasites.
Exactly this.
No not this at all. Millions were being paid to shareholders when it was profitable i.e. back in 2020. This is how things work in this capitalist, corporate world. Private businesses pay money to investors when profits are being made. They aren’t now, which is why you haven’t received a dividend as a shareholder. For the 5th time now - please provide evidence that Royal Mail are running at a profit right now as you continue to claim.

Just admit you can’t and that will be fine. You obviously didn’t understand at first but continuing to double down just makes you look silly.

Billions have been sucked out of the company by parasites.

That's just pure waste, rather than investing in staff, infrastructure and service.

The company is profitable if you simply look at how much we make from our graft vs costs. It only makes a loss on paper because it is giving money away for no return.

True. Anyone who bothers to read the accounts can see that that is the case. The board completely miscalculated post pandemic conditions and that miscalculation is costing billions.

The company hasn't given money away in the form of dividends for a year or more, although if a company doesn't pay dividends it's share price will crash, which doesn't help anybody. Looking back it's hard to understand how Williams is still Chairman when he oversaw the massive dividends being paid out post COVID.

As I said, a profitable enterprise being driven into accounting loss by parasites.

You can keep saying it but there's zero evidence RM is profitable at present, accounting wise or not.

Why are accountants all saying that the companies finances are a disaster then? If we can deal with facts rather than wild conspiracy theories, that would be great. Here are a few more links, not behind paywalls. Are they all making this up? I only ask because Barnacle has been asked to back up his wild theory that RM is actually profitable, but offered precisely zero to back this up besides waffle about ‘not looking at the right numbers’. Provide them then!

Stop picking on Barnacle. We have been profitable for many years and shareholders have taken out at least 2 billion quid out of Royal Mail Group in the last 10 years. The companies finances are not a disaster. It has retained earnings of £3.8 billion and its liquidity has actually increased from £1.9 billion to £2.4 billion.

Your links are all news articles from months ago - the one you provided from the guardian about the billion pound loss is over 9 months old! The company admitted this year that it expected a second half operating profit in Royal Mail last year, on an adjusted basis, to offset the £169 million operating loss in the first half of 2023, so they expect to break even. Royal Mail saw parcel volumes increase by 21% and revenues by 14% in the third quarter of 2023, achieving its best Xmas operational performance in four years.

This is clearly great news for the company as it means that many of the changes that it has already made is starting to take effect. Look instead at revenues which have been increasing year on year as that is a surefire sign that the business is in good financial health and if it hasn't made as much profit previously (and you are quite right) it is because it has continually re-invested into parcel modernisation and super hubs that cost billions of pounds. So we expect to make more profit in the future. Shareholders last big reward was a payday of £400 million in 2021, but don't forget that senior management have also continued to earn significant bonuses and pay-offs through this "elaborate" financial crisis too.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I’m not picking on anyone. Asking people to back up their ludicrous, contrary claims that fly in the face of actual factual evidence is not bullying. Especially when the poster can’t admit to being wrong and refuses to offer anything in response. If you are refuting the links I posted, please feel free to offer some of your own, and indeed point out what institutions such as the Financial Times are missing when it comes to Royal Mail’s finances. I’m sure they would be keen to update their article.

Again, these are ‘group’ results. RM having their losses offset by other companies in the group, that are financially successful.

Except the part where they say they will breakeven. They will be swimming in cash in the next few years as their capex falls off.

There's one more superhub to be built, don't think there's a confirmed location yet, only that it'll be somewhere in the south
