Question for union reps: Are managers actually allowed to use pda data against you. Lately several people have been hauled into office and questioned over why they stopped for x amount of minutes on delivery and been given warning.
I was under the impression that they couldn’t use this data against you. How much time can you stop for, if you’re talking to a customer, before it gets flagged up?
Just like to know what our actual rights are on this matter.

If you aren't completing your duty or failing to complete any lapsing and your PDA is stationary for 30 minutes someone is going to ask why.

Well this is what the BRTG agreement says from last year - did people really know what they were voting 'Yes' to?:

Individual data will be used for coaching purposes in a supportive manner.
In exceptional circumstances where a serious incident or accident has
occurred which may be a potential gross misconduct issue, relevant data
may be used. Where this is the case managers will explain the reasons to
the individual; including what, why, and how the information or data has
been used in that relevant investigation.

Just can't be done in real time as far as I can gather.

Hope the 'hauling into the office' was done in a 'supportive manner'.......

Pda being stationary doesn’t mean you have been. However it will be used in future to corroborate SISO

No idea about anyone else but I can't deliver for more than a few minutes without encountering something that requires scanning, these days I need to keep my PDA in my pocket all the time.

We'll soon have the Personal Performance App to deal with as well.

RM are really stacking the deck in the Manager's favour. Ours is rubbing his hands with glee because he thinks he's going to finally be able to get rid of all those pesky posties that haven't been doing what he wants for years! Despite the fact that they're doing their jobs OK.

I think the idea is to "Manage them out of the Business", I suppose they can then replace them with New Starters on Crap T&Cs who they think will be easier to BS and gaslight.

It really takes a lot of effort nowadays to just come into work and get the job done. I'm sure if I was in my 20s I'd just say Stick It and walk out the door.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the Personal Performance bit of the pda because it’s crap. According to mine I’ve only delivered 3 items at the 1st attempt. The app has been active for over a month

They definitely look @ PDA data, my partner often stays out to complete our walk 2/3 loops he can stretch this out to 3/4 hours, my manger quizzed me about him asking if he parks up & takes the battery out, I really hope he does, fill your boots Son

How could he go that long without anything to scan given how many items these days have a barcode on them?

That is stretching it out! Some posties only scan tracked, reg and specials, refusing to scan anything else that has a 2D barcode. Twoloops’ partner is staying out to finish the final loops so probably has nothing that he feels needs a delivery scan as it is all ‘normal’ stuff?

I'm surprised that RM aren't giving out bollockings for failing to scan "Delivered Scanned" items. There must be some recordeds and SDs that get missed where the barcode is in with the postage of the franking.

Some managers just don’t use the data at their fingertips. At some point this person will take a day off and the stand-in will reveal what is happening just by doing their job.
