Martin, I am a rep down in Devon, please can you shed some light on this matter, the network change times are to be displayed from Monday and coms are briefing staff and telling them to ask reps any questions if they are unsure about anything, the problem herein is that the local reps have been kept totally in the dark and are not permitted to know the times until the rest of the staff know? How is this the company and the cwu rebuilding bridges? Us reps are being made to look stupid as we were told we would be able to negotiate our individual offices only for Royal Mail to turn around in the eleventh hour and say “we will decide and you aren’t involved” they keep saying that this has all been agreed with the cwu, if this is the case, may I ask at what level was it agreed? Because it certainly wasn’t at local or area level?

Its no good asking Martin he only got in because no one voted its a bit like sunak ,and Martin is not my delivery union leader, what union leader would ever side with the argument of the company and keep telling us its the way its going and we have to face facts,im sorry but he has no credibility and as predicted the big sell out is now coming to fruition.

You might aswell have told him to run for prime minister this year too and he would have the exact same chance as
being elected DGSP, zero.
It’s a rigged institution where the lazy rise to the top because of who they know and not what they know. Jobs for the boys and all that.

I'll be retired within 2 years it will take decades to undo the harm caused by the cwu that's if it can ever be undone,if it wants to stay relevant and have any credibility again you have to have a full clear out and get rid of all them who sold us out,Dave and all the pec members and every area rep that tried to persuade people to vote yes, what this union needs now is young blood the one's who want to fight for their terms and conditions and decent pay, what they dont need is the old guard hanging on to their jobs just to get closer to retirement with over inflated salaries,as for me i've got my decent pension in the bag and have had the best years because i use to belong to a union who never backed down ,so chicken i have every right to speak my mind i have nothing to lose.

Well said guardianangel
I can’t believe there are people who still think the union has our best interests at heart. They are bunch of self serving charlatans. This is the beginning of the end for the postal industry and the CWU are grasping at straws trying to stay relevant

i use to belong to a union who never backed down
When was that then?
The one that gave away your final salary pension?
The one that agreed to a single daily delivery and longer delivery spans?

When exactly did the union never back down?
Was it when they went out on strike for 7 weeks and went back for less than was offered at the start?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Hear what you are saying Clash, but guardian's point still stands, the union have done the company's job for them by destroying themselves in a act of hari-kari the likes of which i haven't witnessed from a union before. Maybe it's a decades old problem, i wouldn't know, but since i joined in 2007 i haven't seen anything like this.
I have just read the CWU facebake page and see Mr Webb trying to justify the new start times coming in with threats of industrial action if they try to backtrack any agreement....... HAHAHAHA they have back tracked on everything already so why not continue.
Who in their right mind would go out on a picket line at the unions bidding, must think we have short memories, like i said before a top table clear out and then perhaps a call to arms might get listened too.

I share the exact same sentiments as you. As a Rep I have been left totally in the dark on this. It's embarrassing to have colleagues constantly asking questions I don't have the answers to.

How does some faceless figure somewhere know what is the best start time for my office? Why did this have to be a great secret instead of an ongoing and developing conversation? Iv been drip fed bits here and there, told to keep that secret, told to disregard it, told that this data was first draft and that a more comprehensive data set was on the way to properly negotiate start times with the COM. Then we found out we would be getting a letter in the post but don't worry there will be a meeting before hand to go over things before implementation. That was obviously a lie. Iv even had "wink wink hush hush this is your new time, but don't tell anyone as its not official" conversations. Its all been handled very poorly.

We have been consistently blindsided this year by sudden changes and updates with ZERO heads up or room for debate. From a union that said it was committed to returning its presence to the workplace, Martin hasn't gotten off to a good start.

So Monday the 90 minute ( for some ) later start time will go up but don’t worry. It won’t be that late. Yeahhhhh right. Why put up times in an office that won’t be bought in?
