summer deliveries

Post by mailman71 »

when are the union going to challenge royal mail about summer deliveries, we are being told that the mail is down in the summer maybe the numbers are but the calls are the same.
instead of going to a house with 3or 4 items we go with 1 or 2 but it takes exactly the same time,if you have flats then if you are going to the topit's going to take the same time howmuch mail you have.

And don't forget......

....... throughout the summer you will be delivering winter holiday brochures, last minute summer holiday brochures, summer fashion clearance catalogues, next winters pre season sale catalogues, sky magazines , earth magazines and every f***ing magazine in between - oh and don't forget christmas catalogues and hamper catalogues - they usually start about May bank holiday weekend (and there will probably be a brochure from someone for that as well) plus postcards, credit cards, meter cards, appointment cards (no time for bloody playing cards) and probably a few amongst us will be given our cards because we are totally shagged out or fed up (sorry no other options available at this time due to the depressed economy).

Oops - nearly forgot - it's going to piss down for 4 months solid from June.

Rant over - L Thommo - where are you when I need cheering up?

I dont know where they think we will make the lots of time out on delivery, that is unless they get us a scooter each to go round with!!! What i have been hearing is if you go over say half an hour one day you are due to get that half hour back b4 the end of the week, so say instead of coming in at 6am you come in at 6.30 am one morning! what i wanna know is how are they gonna keep track of all these half hours here and there? :hmmmm

And with later starts this year it'll be that much hotter so we'll all have to go that bit slower.

We are about to start the new longs and shorts in a couple of weeks. Guess what, the later starts have been put back by 45 minutes. FT staff are going from 06.15 to 05.30. Strange how these later starts HAD to come in because of legislation etc, etc, bull, bull bull. But now it suits them we revert! Actually the rep pushed for it and it was overwhelmingly backed by the membership, but we'll not let on.
