Reducing your hours won't affect what you've already accrued, but you'll obviously build up less going forward.

I am thinking of doing the same and this should be a section on the pension website as likely to be a common issue.

A few years ago a colleague of mine did this two years running during the summer. (he's a keen cyclist) After the second time they would only let him go to 35 hours, he was originally on 37. With those albeit brief changes, and what he is now stuck with, it did make quite a difference if you include the drop in pay / allowances with less pension contributions. To me, it isn't worth it unless you get to work fewer days. (he doesn't), especially if you factor in that he does a massive amount of overtime and works six days a week.
