Re: ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT
I am in the same boat I had a telephone conversation with my manager this morning, he said once again HR are not giving nothing away at the moment and went on to say all people who have been off more than 1yr will be put at the Bottom of priority list because it is not costing the company nothing, he went to say the people who go on sick after the first 3 months they get the priority because it is costing the business sick pay, he has more or less told me the people on long term sickness stand a cat in hell's chance of receiving IHR according to him to many people have abused the system.

Wonder if they'd say the same if you have a solicitor behind your back like I do.......denowashere wrote: ↑11 Dec 2023, 13:21I am in the same boat I had a telephone conversation with my manager this morning, he said once again HR are not giving nothing away at the moment and went on to say all people who have been off more than 1yr will be put at the Bottom of priority list because it is not costing the company nothing, he went to say the people who go on sick after the first 3 months they get the priority because it is costing the business sick pay, he has more or less told me the people on long term sickness stand a cat in hell's chance of receiving IHR according to him to many people have abused the system.

Re: ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT
Hi. I have just been given ill health retirement but I had been off for 14 months, had 3 referrals to Optima Health and then a final referral/report with the new company, Health Partners Services. That consultation was in September, then I had a meeting with an area manager mid November and he interviewed me and then gave me figures for leaving. I've now (today) completed all my pension paperwork so just have to wait for my pension. I don't know if it makes a difference but I was already getting my age 60 pension and only had 2 years until my state pension retirement age. I hope this info. might help you.

It does seem different places have different methods in dealing with there staff could be your in one of those places where they treat people with a little respect.

Re: ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT
I have sent a grievance letter to my line managers manager to see if we can sort this out, if not I will be taking it further, my sick pay runs out soon so they will leave me in the scrap heap

Re: ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT
I thought I was going to be left without any money after my sick pay/wages ran out but I started getting a weekly sum related to the pension fund. It was roughly £200 a week and only stopped when I was given my official retirement date. I was with Royal Mail just over 32 years.

Re: ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT
i was only on the sick for 3 months and got IHR, there were 2 people in my office who have been off for over a year and are still waiting, as someone mentioned above it does look like they are now rushing through those who are under 6 months and forgetting about those who are on half pay or none
think it might be a combination of this and maybe each individual persons health issues, mine for example even after an operation, will not get better :(

Re: ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT
Unsure about the rushing through those under 6 months bracket.
I've been off since February and i've just been to see and sign off for ill health this morning.
Got more than i thought i would which is better tbh.
I still think it's down to Local Manager's attitude thats why some aren't getting it and some are.
my payments are due on 22nd December, lets hope they do stick to that....

They will, make sure grab all ur p60s from people app as once sign ur off it the next day
Also ask you rmanager to do a "leavers imediate" so u get your holiday pay in your last wage, so dont get emergency taxed on it the following week
