It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We keep making the tracked target but no where near the USO target

Wonder how many offices are the same?? Surely that should highlight how tracked are prioritised over mail

Wonder if any managers will be sacked after Xmas for blatantly prioritising tracked over everything else :wave

Has anyone ever been sacked for blatantly prioritising Special Deliveries over everything else? :wave
It is what we have always done.

They don't prioritise tracked, it's done for 'Elf and safetee' reasons so nobody trips over the rolls of kitchen roll that get ordered online.

I thought it was only rogue managers that prioritised tracked parcels over letters as they keep telling us this is not Royal Mail policy ;liar

This is true. That is why mail isn't being delivered - so it can be in trays tucked underneath the workstation. To be fair to our managers the only target that we can hit right now are the Tracked.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Confirmed by Nick Landon on BBC Breakfast this morning - Elf and Safetee reasons only!

Couple of managers looking busy watching parcels moving along a conveyor belt, they'll need double donuts this morning.....

So why are we told to deliver every Tracked item including letter box sized items and not just the oversized parcels?

The health and safety excuse came up last year at the parliamentary committee. I'm amazed it's taken this long for them to bring it up again.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

How is it an excuse?
If we have a 1000 letters in the DO nobody would notice. If we have 1000 large parcels the place becomes difficult to navigate. Should we block the aisles and fire escapes while we deliver the letters?

isles and fire escapes are blocked in some offices regardless of how many parcels, the H&S excuse of doing parcels is just that, an excuse. NON tracked parcels dont cause the H&S issue though, only tracked :nana

funny how there was little to none H&S in depots during c19

If the fire escapes are blocked in your DO then your union reps at all levels need to resign and your managers sacked.

If you don't understand basic H&S then obviously you regard any attempt to enforce it as an excuse.
