Most people claiming benefits are in work. They have to claim benefits because their wages are s**t.rambo1 wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 18:47Got that right.Leedspostie29 wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 18:41Let's just say each office can only accept 1-5 people voluntary redundancy yeah? My office is tiny and in all likelihood only 1 will be accepted. The person they will choose is a 60+ year old, who is s**t at job, has diabolical sick record and has COPD.. he is the lucky one who will get the golden egg not me a fit healthy 37 year old.. As ever with Royal mail, the worse you are at the job the more you get rewarded..vmaxv4 wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 18:28Leedspostie29 wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 18:23Why what?vmaxv4 wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 18:21You wouldn’t be consideredLeedspostie29 wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 18:19The jobs shite now and only going to get shitter.. Minimum wage was 50% of a posties wage when I started, minimum wage is now about 80% of a posties wage, say no more. I'm 37 and I'd take voluntary redundancy in a heart beat to get out of this s**t show! More to life than royal mail. Shame I've got no chance of being accepted though
Why!
Same as life in general. If you're s**t with money, have no savings, you get social care for free. If you work hard save hard, are good with money, you get to pay for the same care. We've been fighting for above 2% rise and pensioners and benefits claimers get 10% . Nice.
The rest are pensioners. Do you think £84 per week unemployment benefit is enough to live on. We all know that people are making false claims for employment support/ pip as it pays higher, but most claims are genuine. I work in DWP and see the hoops people have to jump through just to survive. There is another big axe coming to welfare, maybe just in time for your pension. You won't get any pension credit because you will have a RM pension, which means you pay for most of your dental, glasses ect. There are ways to avoid the PENSIONS TRAP but I won't go into details on here. I've just taken a lump sum from a defined benefit pension that I was only in for a couple of years. It was only a few hundred pounds per year and I commuted it into a nice lump sum for my son. Ahem. It's not fair that you pay into a pension for years and get penalised for it. But like I've said, look I to DWP, pension payments and entitlements regulations and make it work for yourselves. It's ALL there in black and white but just needs a bit of time to take it all in.

Re: Are you going to apply for the redundancy on offer?
The irony is people who moan about benefit ‘scroungers’ seem to ignore the fact that most people are working poor and need to claim to survive because of the slave labour wages being paid by some of the wealthiest companies in the world. Instead of them being paid a decent wage, we are all subsidising the benefits system instead, topping up their wages with tax payers money. That is where people should be focussing their anger, not on some poor sod claiming £80 a week or whatever.
