Unless you've ever worked in delivery, you will genuinely never understand how bad it's been for the last few years. The job has been utterly destroyed for delivery OPG's.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023, 14:47It was always going to be f****d, it will be for each of the weeks as wellted_e_bear wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023, 14:05Guess that's this week's £25 national bonus already f****d then
Who's delivering 150-200+ packets a day, along with mail in the space of 4/5/6 hours?
Some might say it's still fine, those folk in the smaller D.Os or new starts trying to make up their hours.
Don't forget to try all the neighbours

I can see how much bigger walks have gotten from the batches we run through the CSS. For one DO the number of walks for it n my machine dropped by nearly half with no sign of them being added to batches for the other CSS machines.mwalker88 wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023, 18:36Unless you've ever worked in delivery, you will genuinely never understand how bad it's been for the last few years. Some of the problems in DOs will have been down to the "runners" and those coming in before their official start time working for free

100% true that, it's a fact in my office the two top 10 senior guys who had the easiest walks in the office came in a good 1 to 2 hrs before their time and guess what, revision happened and 2 hrs added to those deliverysSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023, 18:52I can see how much bigger walks have gotten from the batches we run through the CSS. Re: Offices 'officially' in trouble?
OPGs are as much to blame as management for how bad the job is on delivery now. Working for free and running round was always going to bite us in the backside eventually and we can’t say we weren’t warned.mwalker88 wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023, 19:38Always an answer about how it's the Posties fault eh?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023, 18:52

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No it won't because that is not how duties are planned.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023, 18:52

One thing that will certainly make duties bigger is measuring from the kerb rather than the middle of the road.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
