As they are nothing to with the Union we are not asking them to strike, whether or not they do is up to their convictions, beliefs and strength of personality and if they believe the cause is good enough for them to strike.
Most pressure on a strike call is put on members because they are expected to back the democratic decision whether or not they agree with it, non union people can do what they want in my opinion.

Unfortunately, asking non-union people for their opinions and trying to involve them in the decision-making process in the workplace can be misinterpreted by over-zealous managers who think that their non-union workers may be pressurised into union activity. So we tend not to do it.cantypeANDSHOUTS wrote:back to the point if your asking non union members to effectively strike as well you should at the very least ask them there opinions...oh but i guess its alright to be dictated to by a union not royal mail
Sometimes it's hard for people to understand what's going on when they don't have access to the background information we can get from the CWU. I would suggest that someone who's not sure what they think about a situation should join the Union to get the info. Then they can vote. They could then cancel their membership if they're really not happy with the democratic process.

Yes apologies for the cutting of your post but I just wanted to highlight this part, as during last years "troubles" I was warned off talking to non union members as it may have been perceived as either bullying of incitement of Unofficial Action depending on their viewpoint. For that reason and that reason alone it is not in the best interests of individual union members attempting to talk to non-union members about possible actions or if they support a particular stance.jemima wrote:Unfortunately, asking non-union people for their opinions and trying to involve them in the decision-making process in the workplace can be misinterpreted by over-zealous managers who think that their non-union workers may be pressurised into union activity. just look at the trumped up , preposterous charges at Burslem , and the underhand , disgraceful goings on at Bristol , RM have finally realised they've to back up the a***holes they put in charge and give Stalinist directives to ; so it means RM back themselves even more into a corner .TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Yes apologies for the cutting of your post but I just wanted to highlight this part, as during last years "troubles" I was warned off talking to non union members as it may have been perceived as either bullying of incitement of Unofficial Action depending on their viewpoint. It was RM that f***ed up the pension , and as for union due monies being used politically just look at anti-union firms like M&S , Building Firms etc donating money to the Tories for influence .
MURDERERS. Need to dispose of a body? Simply parcel it up and post it to yourself via DHL. You will never see it again.

ok it wasn't royal mail that fooked up pensions..lets get that straight..all was rosey till the union backed labour party stuck the stealth tax on pensions.because the only way they could get elected was to promise no direct tax increases and the plebs fells for it.but it was good news for unions as everybody now blames royal mail ,more join the union ..even labour doesn't get money for nothing.as for builders paying the tories ,it may be true you may have heard something i havntbut the whole cash for honours row was about the head of one of Britain's biggest building firms giving money to labour and getting a lordship..of coarse it doesn't help that RM never put in for 17 yreas but then that money would have gone down the swanny too..political opt out payment form....do you really think the union contrabutions to labour will go down....

17 years ago, which party was in power then, 1990-91 mmm? Still you won't find many (if any) Labour supporters on here. Good to see that you're still refusing to let facts get in the way of making your point, keep up the good work, I actually enjoy reading your posts.cantypeANDSHOUTS wrote:
