It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Offices 'officially' in trouble?
While I don't have the time to literally count all the DPs that have failed, a quick walk round the 72 frames revealed 14 full walks didn't go out and another 19 only half-cleared or thereabouts, plus half a dozen cut-off loops. Similar numbers all this week, and by my rough calculations we've been over 30% for three consecutive days.
Now, these are admittedly estimates and there's probably enough of a margin of error that we could be under the magic 30%. Previous weeks were I've done this have yielded a consistent 20-25% which is reflective of the number of people whose names will not appear on the seniority list the next time it's printed. Still, the trend is upward!

Re: Offices 'officially' in trouble?
I don't believe it's down to four. I really don't.
20 entire walks didn't go out today! That alone is a certified quarter of DPs in the office before you add on the substantial number of partial failures.
Shouldn't the union be asking for reps to independently count the failures? I remember our reps taking a photo of a failed duty for evidence years ago due to absurd lapsing demands coming from upper management. I guess it was a bigger deal back in the halcyon days of 2018.
Speaking of lapsing, the thesaurus offers 'prelapsarian' as an alternative to halcyon - "Of, or relating to the period of innocence before the Fall of man; innocent, unspoiled."

I suspect that if I put the names of every last DO into a hat and drew a dozen out, all of them would "unofficially" be in troubleMr Rush wrote: ↑10 Nov 2023, 17:37I don't believe it's down to four. I really don't.

Re: Offices 'officially' in trouble?
Most of our walks have loops left in them but they are not classed as 'failures'. I mean come on, if there are 3 or 4 loops left in the frame or brought back from the day before - why has that not failed?? If our managers and reps are classing that as non-failure's (which I believe they are) then it's obvious that they are fudging the figures and using creative management to reach the desired Quality of Service.
We need Panorama to come in and reveal exactly what is going on inside delivery offices

Re: Offices 'officially' in trouble?
We're failing well in excess of 30% DPs again this week, though I'm informed that only 900-something DPs are classed as true failures and the other 18 walks that went nowhere are workplan failures - that is, they have a plan where they imagine a fully-staffed office which immediately collapses when faced with reality. So it's a write-off.postslippete wrote: ↑10 Nov 2023, 21:08Most of our walks have loops left in them but they are not classed as 'failures'.
