One things for sure, if Bursem hasn't been earmarked for closure, the chances are that any restructuring in the area will put it high on the list. Reading on you tube last night about Liverpool workers condemning Birmingham workers for not staying out on strike long enough and next thing we know, the Liverpool wildcat brotherhood see all their jobs up for the chop. Always a dangerous line if you push things just that bit too far. Fine singing the praises of courage and determination in the face of aversity under the heading of 'the struggle' but the wife may not see it the same way when the job goes.

And thats NOT a moral judgement on disputes as to whether they're right or not but there are limits even for those.

Either way, once the poor posties have battled on and possibly found themselves jobless, the Socialist workers vanish from whence they came. They move on to something else - same with coal and car industries.
