To be fair, I don’t know the intricacies of the financial state of the office I work in, I only know I enjoy going in to work each day, and don’t spend my evenings and weekends moaning about the job on here, so it must be at least on the right path.

The company has become, for many, quite an unpleasant place to work. Factually, it is failing to perform its function in every single UK postcode. That you, personally, are grateful for your real terms pay cut, the downgrading of your terms and conditions, and the hollowing out and winding up of the business, is irrelevant to everyone else on here. You've said it. Everyone's heard. It's okay. You can stop.

Failing to perform its function in every single UK postcode? Absolute fabricated cobblers. I would say my experience is more the norm, but all the serial whiners and post-people living in the past are more vocal on here. The job is so terrible and infringes on their life to such a degree, but they don’t move on and find alternate employment. I wonder why?einastronaut wrote: ↑11 Nov 2023, 10:01Who are you kidding Lou? Your experience is not the norm. You know that. Staff are leaving. ~1000 postmen a month are leaving, per the articles above. I left when our office went below 50% staffing. The tedious threatening edicts from upon high and the relentless harrassment to make up for managerial and recruitment failings made the job intolerable.
You're either a troll, a plant, or, as above, you can't grasp that a reality might exist outside of the bubble of your limited experience. Either way, you stay and cross your fingers that the culture that pervades this company nationwide doesn't arrive on your doorstep soon. There will be no one left for you to complain to when it does.

I admire your positivity Lou in the face of adversity but you posted on another topic "Big Trust Survey 2023" that you couldn't see redundancies being necessary in delivery because there is a massive turnover of staff right now; so people have moved on. Maybe they haven't all found alternate employment and some of them have either taken IHR or have just retired but a massive turnover of staff is not a positive for Royal Mail.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

It’s a big negative for the company. Experience is essential especially on walking deliveries as it usually takes a while to get to grips with the job.postslippete wrote: ↑11 Nov 2023, 19:56LouBarlow wrote: ↑11 Nov 2023, 18:06

I’ve seen many never get to grips with the job.

You have completely changed your language in the space of two posts. Failure to function is completely different to not hitting delivery targets. I’m a plant? Maybe you are a plant, seeing as you have barely posted on this forum, claim to have left the business but for some reason still give a damn enough to post here, and want to stir up resentment?einastronaut wrote: ↑11 Nov 2023, 18:24Ofcom and The Times are fabricating cobblers?LouBarlow wrote: ↑11 Nov 2023, 18:06Failing to perform its function in every single UK postcode? I’m presuming you are actively involved on the forums dedicated to your new employment?

Across the board the necessity for this scheme in the first place (to give staff a shove to work OT to QOS) is obviouslyValentina@1 wrote: ↑11 Nov 2023, 10:29What’s the latest, has the union agreed to this scheme, can we just do our normal hours,is this commit to deliver, theres been no update at all.
Typical from CWU.
an issue that the CWU should be getting on top of.
But looking at the scheme in isolation:
If you read the attachment that came with the LTB (as quoted above) they'd already 'welcomed' the scheme, so you could call it 'agreed',The CWU broadly welcomes this initiative and in recent weeks, our interventions
have redesigned key elements of the proposal to maximise the number of
employees who are likely to receive payments.
they haven't 'disagreed', and according to the above were actively involved in it being 'redesigned'.
Of course you can do your normal hours, that's what you get paid for. If you need to 'cut off' then cut off observing the procedure.
If you want the OT required for the office to achieve QOS and the bonus then do it.
If your office doesn't achieve the required QOS target then you don't get paid the incentive, it really is that simple.
It's not a deduction for not achieving it, it's a payment if you do, so you shouldn't miss it.

The Times said: "Ofcom has launched an investigation into the delivery failures, after the service failed to hit its targets in every UK postcode in summer."
If you think the language is "completely changed" then that seems to be a comprehension issue on your end. "Delivery failures" by a delivery company is failing to perform its function.
I won't waste any more time debating a fool.

So by that incentive, and by RM standards that "all walks are equal"yellowbelly wrote: ↑12 Nov 2023, 14:20If you read the attachment that came with the LTB (as quoted above) they'd already 'welcomed' the scheme, so you could call it 'agreed',The CWU broadly welcomes this initiative and in recent weeks, our interventions

Where does the inequality of DOs staffed by 12 posties, compared to DOs staffed by 200 posties come into play within this agreement?
Please do tell

In answer to your question, I'll repeat the first part of my post which you missed out:mwalker88 wrote: ↑12 Nov 2023, 17:04So by that incentive, and by RM standards that "all walks are equal"yellowbelly wrote: ↑12 Nov 2023, 14:20If you read the attachment that came with the LTB (as quoted above) they'd already 'welcomed' the scheme, so you could call it 'agreed',The CWU broadly welcomes this initiative and in recent weeks, our interventions

Additionally you didn't explain whether in your hypothetical situation whether the 12 or 200 office are resourced appropriately/fully soAcross the board the necessity for this scheme in the first place (to give staff a shove to work OT to QOS) is obviously
an issue that the CWU should be getting on top of.
not sure of your question to be honest.

The Elephant in the room here is:
If you need to cut off, do it by procedure.
How many OPG'S even know how to approach that subject now?

New Start, Here's the Walk you need to deliver.
I don't think that is achievable within 6 hours on the street.
"Hypothetically"
You're getting sacked if you don't do it. Or else

QOS is a roundabout joke mate. Well done
