The union have concerns about the bonus but if the company are still prepared to give some staff extra money I can hardly see them preventing that from happening. It's RM that pays our wages, not the union.Valentina@1 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2023, 14:34Has this Xmas incentive bonus been given green light by CWU then?

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Probably need God, Jesus, Santa and all the other guys to get through this Christmas the way this is going. A measly £500 (more than likely less factoring in pro rota guaranteed and tax on that) isn't going to get you far at all. Not a single parcel driver on sight whilst office is getting buried with days/weeks worth of mail and Christmas has come early. Meanwhile, got managers just burying their heads in the sand or going round to people it's do able

In our office they are putting the fastest people together so they clear their walks and putting the extra resource in on the slowest ones so they clear the office, surely this hasnt been agreed .

Agreed by who, surely it's down to the local management to try and do what was necessary to hit the targets?guardianangel wrote: ↑09 Nov 2023, 21:26In our office they are putting the fastest people together so they clear their walks and putting the extra resource in on the slowest ones so they clear the office, surely this hasnt been agreed .

We already have staff dedicated to parcels which is easing the pressure on delivery staff and we are nowhere near actual pressure yet or the mighty PEAK as it is now known. I know people don’t seem to believe that some offices are capable of being run properly, but it is what it is.

Not when they start to single out the slower ones whether that be through health or age, seem to me discrimination is going on right under our noses, the newer, younger, fastest ones get a pat on the back while the sick and old get bullied and harassed ,looks like they want to take them in a field and shoot them and it doesn't sit right,is this really what we have become.TopperGas wrote: ↑09 Nov 2023, 21:53Agreed by who, surely it's down to the local management to try and do what was necessary to hit the targets?guardianangel wrote: ↑09 Nov 2023, 21:26In our office they are putting the fastest people together so they clear their walks and putting the extra resource in on the slowest ones so they clear the office, surely this hasnt been agreed .

If your office is being run properly and is not struggling why would there be any need for any extra staff to be employed? That doesn't make sense from a business point of view

They aren’t extra staff. You realise that people have annual leave? You naturally should have more people than rounds to cover such eventualities. To be fair, I don’t know the intricacies of the financial state of the office I work in, I only know I enjoy going in to work each day, and don’t spend my evenings and weekends moaning about the job on here, so it must be at least on the right path.postslippete wrote: ↑10 Nov 2023, 21:01LouBarlow wrote: ↑10 Nov 2023, 05:15We already have staff dedicated to parcels which is easing the pressure on delivery staff and we are nowhere near actual pressure yet or the mighty PEAK as it is now known. Who are you kidding Lou? You're an ever-present fixture on this forum, moaning about colleagues who, unlike you, no longer enjoy going in to work each day. No post is allowed to go unanswered by the haughty bootlicker, LouBarlow.LouBarlow wrote: ↑10 Nov 2023, 05:15They aren’t extra staff. You realise that people have annual leave? It's as if you're yet to reach Piaget's concrete operational stage of development; because you can't see something yourself you cannot seem to grasp that it exists.
The company has become, for many, quite an unpleasant place to work. Factually, it is failing to perform its function in every single UK postcode. That you, personally, are grateful for your real terms pay cut, the downgrading of your terms and conditions, and the hollowing out and winding up of the business, is irrelevant to everyone else on here. You've said it. Everyone's heard. It's okay. You can stop.
