Those with six figure salaries at the head of our union didn't lose even when they called us out on strike. Neither did the screws.

Where, aside from the Premier League, can you be consistently useless at your job and still expect to bank your wages without comment?
Oh I dunno how about OfCom? Why are they not doing anything about USO failures? And like someone on here said - who's monitoring the managers performance? We have been failing the mail and the LATs for months but we were not consistently useless last year. You don't need to be on krypton factor to work out why.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Just because there are multiple failures in the business doesn't mean they can't, won't or even shouldn't monitor employee performance.
The union's responsibility in this position is not to stop performance management, it is to make sure it is accurate, fair and transparent and applied equally to all.
The jury is out on that one, they are trying to have some input and influence but as I have already pointed out we're dealing with an employer that seems to be in self destruct mode.

Re: LTB 258/23 - UNAGREED EXTENSION OF MY PERFORMANCE APP
Unfortunately Royal Mail are quite intransigent about this and they clearly haven't communicated it very well otherwise the subject topic wouldn't be called "Unagreed extension of my performance app".
RM need to be really clear on what data they are collecting and why otherwise they will lose the trust and goodwill of staff which is patently wearing thin. Totally agree with treating staff fairly. They need to get this right first otherwise it will just increase the prevalence of some of the behaviours that they are trying to prevent. I'm a firm believer that a happy workforce is a more productive one.

The data they are collecting, or at least using, is shown on the app? Basically it's 1st time delivery %, SISO and the usual Trimble stats. If you're a non driver on a duty you can deliver most of your tracked easily each day then your laughing!!postslippete wrote: ↑18 Oct 2023, 21:12Unfortunately Royal Mail are quite intransigent about this and they clearly haven't communicated it very well otherwise the subject topic wouldn't be called "Unagreed extension of my performance app".

Agree with the “self destruct mode” Woody, from what I see & people I talk to retention is a big issue.New starters don’t tend to hang around for long, add the senior guys/girls with experience leaving too & we have what we got now, extremely poor quality of service.
Most of this is of course designed by Senior Management to lower the labour costs, however it cannot be to the point where we are now?
Was it always their intention to ignore the USO, to effectively break the law, it must be or has it gone so tits up as to get to that self destruct button?
Are we now to become a company that relies solely on a high turnover of staff, because quality will never increase?
Xmas is going to be a disaster, might as well press that button now!!

Oh, I thought it was also things like having a negative attitude or for having 'disagreements' with the com over the workloads (that's me screwed!) for which you get a purple badge. Pls don't get me started on non-drivers as some of them don't realise how good it is.

Once Thier was a union. It has now swallowed itself, gnawed the fat from the bones and left us behind. Morphed into a leach and sucking the blood. It has nothing to offer.

If you feel that strongly leave the union and you know... move on and fight your own battles.
If you've already left to be fair it's really none of your business.

The s**t Royal Mail does affects your work.
But keep blaming the union if it makes you feel better.

It's an inactive union. But it is our fault because we let the lazy bastard's get away with it.
