The majority of offices are short staffed. Anyone thinking they will use this data to force people out is deluded. They need to retain staff at this point.
Not every office is short staffed and it's not deluded.
I know people who have been fitted up for very weak wilful delay charges very recently.
How can people be done for wilful delay when the company has been wilfully delaying mail throughout the country for 2 years now on an absolutely ridiculous scale.

No day-off cover in our office for 2 years+ now. Mail essentially goes out 5 days a week unless duty holder works day off - which is rare.

Double standards is the name of the game for some of these managers.
The case in question the postie was man marked all day, followed and didn't have the chance to put a foot wrong with the manager breathing down his neck.
Still tried to do him for not being at the point of duty on time, then failing the walk.
Didn't go anywhere but still. He would have loved this new little tool on the PDA.
The manager has never liked the fella.

At Oldham people are being 'coached' for speeding, idling, being stationary for more than 2 minutes. After coaching is 'conducting', then after that it's suspension', same if people don't do van checks or do the SISO.

So yes they are using PDAs/Trimbls against people. They want people on the new amazing contracts.

The point is they can’t retain staff on these new contracts. They’ve reached a point where the job isn’t worth the hassle as a newcomer.

Yes it was in the agreement and the CWU is all over it as they helped to draw it up and are partners in its implementation. As you say it was tucked away

As it states on Page 31 on the Pilot Approach - New PDA APP/Tile "both parties agree to the pilot of a new "my performance" app/title on the PDAs"

" The CWU will be fully involved with the pilot and ongoing activity, which will be carried out in line with the commitments, principles and spirit of this agreement including the use of any data derived through the App as outlined above."

The implications were clear this was "with the objective of raising awareness of individual contribution and initiate support where it is required through the workplace coach."

However euphemistically worded it is monitoring Amazon style. But just like the two-tier system and conditions of new entrants on inferior pay Ward and Furey would not allow an open discussion because they were too busy shouting down those calling for a No vote as "reckless" and "delusional"

Well if this doesn't convince anyone that RM is being run by corrupt, bullying, lying fraudsters, then it bloody should do. The powers that be are trying so hard to get rid of anyone with disabilities, anyone older, anyone with afterwork commitments etc. They cant do it directly, so their plan is obviously to make the job so untenable, so disheartening, so unnecessarily convoluted and completely unachievable. They're watching everything you do, waiting for you to slip up and then you're out the door. All they want is an army of robotic teenagers that charge around like maniacs, and are at the beck and call for RM, all for minimum wage.
This is of course, my personal opinion.....but I bet I'm not far wrong.

Just briefed on the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Purple categories. Very subjective and carte blanche for a manager who doesn't like the look of your jib to manage you out of the door. Extra Manager bonus points if you happen to be on the old 'costlier' contract. They've got those lined up in the firing range and picking them off one by one.

That does sound like a bit like a divide and conquer strategy to me. Regardless of whether they can retain new recruits or not - the Union should be all over it.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Did I understand this correct - they are only introducing this "gold, silver, bronze, purple" scheme in certain delivery areas rather than across the whole of the country. If that's right then can that not be classed as discrimination and then illegal.

It's a trial run, isn't it?

Can you explain more on this please.
What exactly were you briefed?

If the union doesn't pull it's finger out and deal with this, then they'll be finished

Given that most other RM staff/grades have had performance reviews for decades, it would be hard for the CWU to have any valid reasons for stopping it now.
