Woody can I ask you, having a good union representation and decent working relationship with management does your unit prioritise tracked over other items of mail?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑06 Oct 2023, 22:07Like a lot of what is posted on here that's your experience but not necessarily what is happening across the business. No woodie they are doing it because they have done it before.
Now they are under pressure as to why they can't complete
I get it, most people who post on here do so out of a sense of frustration because their experience at work is not good, unfortunately it leads to a skewed perception of the entire business because let's be honest who is going to be arsed posting anything positive just to be bombarded by abuse?
The fact is in my experience most of my members work their days off and work overtime in general because they need or want the money not because they are under pressure to do so or are trying to impress management.
I understand from your previous posts that your office is a s**t hole and I feel for you but that doesn't mean everywhere is the same. Our office isn't perfect, we have the same issues everyone has at the moment with recruitment but we have good union representation and a decent working relationship with management.

Good Union representation and a decent working relationship with management
The industrial dispute was bitter and led to 400 reps and members being suspended nationally . If Royal Mail really wanted to maintain really good relations with the CWU why couldn't they just give them their jobs back? And what about Royal Mail imposing things that were not part of the deal?
What is happening across the business is just like you said - there are issues with recruitment. Why are posties leaving and not being replaced??
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I assume the OP means on their individual branch not RM generally, we have no issues between the union rep and management at our branch, it still doesn't stop them failing to recruit when staff leave and so day off cover is being gradually removed.
We're basically moving to a 5 day USO whether OFCOM approve it or not.
