Can they not use the other style of yorks that are like the white ones, they have a see through part and you can have a lower bottom or raise it ?

Not sure what they are called, but we sometimes get around hand full of them every night, i might be wrong in thinking they are from gatwick.
They are called MK4s and seem to have become very scarce lately a bit like the Red Sleeves but not as much as the Green Sleeves or Cardboard which are maybe 1 a night if that.
They are a pain in the backside - but better than these cheapo white rubbish we have now
I am guessing the MK4s are being phased out due to being more expensive to make (i assume)
These white sleeve ones are rubbish

Wonder if RM are looking at axing the green sleeves and making SD lockers go back to using bags

Doesn't say if it's a DO or MC but either way that mess is purely down to someone opening up the whole sleeve at once instead of emptying it 1/3 at a time.
Oh to live in your Royal Mail utopia, SP where everything that leaves a mail centre is in pristine condition and everything thereafter is user error

What do you say to the picture posted in response clearly demonstrating the utter shitshow that has been sent to a DO for some poor colleague to sort?

It's been a couple of months now but we're seeing loads of damaged ones. A common issue is that the velcro pads have come away and are missing. Don't think it's going to be too long until most of them are damaged.

No one locally have been using the shovels.

It's a PITA some nights to find plain yorks without these sleeves for manual letters, flats and the mech.

Hope RM have kept the old sleeves and not just incinerated them.

Anyone know if the extra sleeves that will be in the system for Xmas Pressure later in the year are these white ones or the proper fabric (normally red) ones?

A more common issue we see is that the whole front "door" is missing :Applause

My guess is where the cheap plastic has cracked creating dangerous edges someone in the chain has helpfully removed the broken front. On hearsay I did hear many in Deliveries kick them in whilst bemoaning their usage

Its because we fold them back expecting them to go level with the sides of the york so they dont cut your legs when your grabbing the packets, unfortunatley they dont fold back as far as we expect and snap.

Never actually had that happen to me yet but then I basically have the fold wrapped around the back of my legs as I lean in will have to try and snap as many as I can using your technique(In case you haven't guessed I despise these sleeves probably because I would like to be able to walk under my own steam when in retirement)

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

As it gets colder and there are kept on loading bays, collection bays or are in lorries, I wonder if the cold will end up making the plastic brittle

There's more and more of them now with the doors either missing or damaged. Red sleeves seem to be starting to make an appearance, I'm wondering if RM have finally realised that the white sleeves are a load of s**t and have decided to withdraw them (or at least keep them to just MC/customer to superhub runs.
