Annual leave hours docked
Ok so I can’t be the only one, what exactly is being done about extra hours being removed from annual leave entitlements of people who have leave booked September-December ‘23. Manager hasn’t a clue, HR say it will balance out next year (take that with a pinch of salt). Why has it even been taken anyway?

Re: Annual leave hours docked
It's typical Royal Mail chaos ; I'm on collections so the change in hours isn't relevant to me ie I'm on 37 hours 52 weeks of the year but still my 2 weeks off in September have been docked at 39 hours . My manager is on it and trying to get it sorted as soon as possible.

Re: Annual leave hours docked
Union has put out an ltb and covered in another thread.
It apparently is being "discussed" with RM.

The feedback though is annual leave already booked should be honoured so it’s madness and maddening for them to snatch hours only to hand them back at a later date. Smells fishy to me but then the place has become complete f***ing clown shoes

Are you based out a MC or DO? My guess is for anyone who's tagged to deliveries or a DO has had the seasonal variations applied to their annual leavemozilla wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 16:50It's typical Royal Mail chaos ; I'm on collections so the change in hours isn't relevant to me ie I'm on 37 hours 52 weeks of the year but still my 2 weeks off in September have been docked at 39 hours . Re: Annual leave hours docked
From what i've read RM say you will not owe them hours if you have booked all your leave and seasonal variation now leaves you without enough hours to cover that leave but it doesn't say that if you have surplus hours or book leave knowing it will take you over your allocation that they will honour it or give you hours backheraldmoth wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 19:34The feedback though is annual leave already booked should be honoured so it’s madness and maddening for them to snatch hours only to hand them back at a later date. That had crossed my mind too A2B, I think the word 'deficit' is mentioned in RM's FAQ responses, so could that mean that onlyA2B wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 20:47From what i've read RM say you will not owe them hours if you have booked all your leave and seasonal variation now leaves you without enough hours to cover that leave but it doesn't say that if you have surplus hours or book leave knowing it will take you over your allocation that they will honour it or give you hours backheraldmoth wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 19:34The feedback though is annual leave already booked should be honoured so it’s madness and maddening for them to snatch hours only to hand them back at a later date. if your leave balance goes into -'ve territory because of SV that they write it off but if you've still got a +'ve balance at the end
then it's tough? Lack of clarity as usual.

Which is absolute madness and completely unfair if that is the case.
Let’s say me and my colleague are both off next week. I’ve had it booked before seasonal variation took hours away and my colleague booked it this week after seasonal variation.
We will both actually use 39 hours leave but Royal Mail are going to dock 37.5 from one person and 39 from the other.
They can’t really do that without there being disputes up and down the country.
If they had any sense then they’d put the hours back to the way they were and start any seasonal variation of annual leave on 1st April next year once everyone’s leave has reset. But sense went out the window a long time ago…

How are other offices paying you for a day off?
We've been told that for example a day is 7hrs plus 24var you can only book the 7hrs.Bet it's different everywhere as per.

You would hope RM would own the mess they created and give everyone their hours back but don't hold your breath

Re: Annual leave hours docked
I can't see RM bothering to give anyone their hours back. To do so will require a manual alteration on PSP and I'm not sure if that can only be done by Sheffield.
If anyone has a negative leave allocation as a result of the seasonal variation, as it stands PSP will dock that negative amount from your total leave allocation for next year

Re: Annual leave hours docked
I’ve worked 2 days off since seasonal variation started. I claimed all the hours worked as overtime(As in your example, 7hrs 24 mins).theotherone wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 21:05How are other offices paying you for a day off?
