We’ve all seen fewer letters come in, but the drop in call-rate has simply led to bigger walks. We’re probably now delivering to more houses but with fewer letters, while additionally the growth in packets has added to that. Going down to 5 days will just make the job harder, as your call-rate will increase on your walk that was added and added to as letters declined. Delivering 400 letters across 800 houses isn’t easier than delivering 400 letters across 400 houses.

They rely on Royal Mail telling them the truth. Imagine that... despite what they must have observed during the Parliamentary committee .liars reporting to the lazy.
Enough pictures have been sent to them of wofully failing offices. However the look at what Royal Mail send them.
I have an open case with OFCOM
After weeks of the same evidence being supplied to them He/She asked .
What do you expect me to do.

Monday to Friday, yes bring it on. Maybe offer some of us older chaps 4 day week, I would snap there hand off. 5 day USO is inevitable, stop worrying about double mail and walk's that are too big. None of it matters to the management so...... just do a good days work and enjoy more weekend time.

I like a rotating day off and a long weekend. A 4 day week does appeal though, obviously I wouldnt want to lose much moneyadamanti wrote: ↑11 Sep 2023, 19:36Monday to Friday, yes bring it on. We must be the only UK employees who manage to lose hours (holidays) when working over 2 hours for free every week, if the CWU are involved in the talks in anyway they'll no doubt convince OFCOM that we only need to deliver post 4 days a week!!guardianangel wrote: ↑11 Sep 2023, 20:22They've nicked our holiday's,not in the agreement, get those ballots out,oh yeah thought not you and your 2 stooges have forever ruined the union, you will never get a ballot across the line again.

Even if they did get it over line i think a few would cross the picket line.no faith left in them anymore.guardianangel wrote: ↑11 Sep 2023, 20:22They've nicked our holiday's,not in the agreement, get those ballots out,oh yeah thought not you and your 2 stooges have forever ruined the union, you will never get a ballot across the line again.

Re: General Secretary Dave Ward on the universal service obligation.
I think they will allow a 5 day letter service.
Then be told " there you go,now you should turn a profit".
Problem being royal mail already barely delivers letters 5 days as it stands now.
So when asked why things haven't worked out regarding profit the argument will resurface.
The company are not being honest and the merry go round will continue..
