I haven't done a delivery of such for years now but remember Royal Mail stopping you doing this practice of putting one household delivery inside the other some years ago now. Apparently businesses were finding that Joe Public was just picking up the things not bothering to check the contents and just throwing them in the bin. Made the ruddy job a lot harder as I remember...rhino49 wrote:Had my garden centre one this week - fortunately with two lightweights that fitted inside it nicely - next week we have 3 x 2 pence ones and the two I've seen so far are bloody awkward designs for frame prepping. I think the targeting system for dtd's must be quite sophisticated, because we get different groups of them within the same postcode but on different types of residential areas. For instance last week I delivered a garden mag - a gas boiler maintainance leaflet and a replacement window leaflet to 4 blocks of housing association flats (90) with no gardens and a corporate service and replacement system - the residents must have been delighted with those little gems of opportunity, but they earned me £30 so why worry?POSTMAN wrote:Is that the garden center one.smokerjim wrote:Don't know about our main office, or the other D2Ds, but next week we will have a magazine ( 4p per item ) to deliver that we've never had before - f* ck-a-doodle-doo!TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Still only a 3 day week next week what the betting the D2Ds will be the heaviest or most awkward we have had for week.

We are constantly told not to put D2D's inside each other but we do anyway and the managers just ignore it (as long as they give out the info then they don't care)dave7634 wrote:I haven't done a delivery of such for years now but remember Royal Mail stopping you doing this practice of putting one household delivery inside the other some years ago now. If only.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Sort of a row with the DOM today, was told that we should use our common sense when we've been hammered.
So guess what will happen next time.

Council tax bills today, don't know what I hate more, delivering them or getting home to find mine has gone up by £150 a year, just under £1200 a year. £1200!!!! Still I delivered all of mine today, except for the bundle that appeared on my frame after I left, oh and the ones that will arrive tomorrow, oh and the ones that were missorted and the ones that are all mixed up in other walks bundles. We were given till Thursday to do them, and no D2D's (lose £20 but at least I don't have the hassle of doing them on a short week)
