Still not clear at all is it?heraldmoth wrote: ↑06 Sep 2023, 14:27
Annual leave is always deducted according to the work schedule an employee is on in the week in which they take it, so any booked during 'high' season will be using more annual leave, as they're taking more time off work. But again, we have put processes in place for 2023-24, because of there being no 'low' season to balance out the 'high' and with most annual leave already being booked when seasonal went live, to ensure employees get their full entitlement and that pre-booked leave is honoured, as per the agreement.
What I received from HR
All most of us want to know is if we will get the extra 2 hours per week back. A simple yes or no answer will suffice.

Re: 24 minutes
Clear as mud.
"Processes in place".
So what are they exactly??
We're only going to know for certain when we take leave in low season next year, and see what they take off our entitlement for that.
I will just keep a record for every minute extra from this week and make a separate note of entitlement.
In short, I don't trust the processes.

Don’t shoot the message. Yea I emailed back asking for clarity as it was supposed to be waived, but in my case I’m not on a equal footing to anyone taking leave post XmasZicomurphy wrote: ↑06 Sep 2023, 16:34Still not clear at all is it?heraldmoth wrote: ↑06 Sep 2023, 14:27

On a side note also, if something fishy isn’t going on, why remove the hours at all?

Wasn’t meant as a dig at you at all. Sorry if it come across that way. I meant a simple yes or no from Royal Mail.heraldmoth wrote: ↑06 Sep 2023, 18:16Don’t shoot the message. Re: 24 minutes
The F/t staff in our office are in 24 mins early but get dragged to do 20 odd mins sorting on letters/packets/overweight's many have no/little experience on sorting so seems totally futile. I thought the whole idea of the "variance" was to cater for the imminent seasonal pressure(ironic in this heat granted) needed on frame prep given the additional work the revisions have added.

It's all work that needs doing, they'll learn it if only a bit. You prep.the mail.if nobody's sorted itRacingpostie wrote: ↑06 Sep 2023, 18:34The F/t staff in our office are in 24 mins early but get dragged to do 20 odd mins sorting on letters/packets/overweight's many have no/little experience on sorting so seems totally futile. Re: 24 minutes
To add context, this is part way through the shift not at the start. Offices already have sorters, It's akin to somebody being sent out for 20mins to help other posties deliver part of a loop, the reason this glorified flexi time was apparently needed me thinks notpieoftheday wrote: ↑06 Sep 2023, 18:46It's all work that needs doing, they'll learn it if only a bit.
