Apart from the pay rise what certainty have we still got? What's to stop RM just doing what the hell they want anyway? Can't see them taking much notice of the union any moreNickvilla20 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 13:29The government couldn’t give a crap about Royal Mail in their eyes we are just another delivery company.
Voting yes bought certainly which is what the majority of people want along with a pay rise. Voting no wasn’t an option for many people living week to week. I supposed wanting to have certainty and more money in your pocket is selling out.
Personally for me I’ve never known the job as stress free as it is today. No pressure to get done, no pressure to clear my door to doors as long as the tracked and specials are done then they are happy.

Outdoor work isn’t much different than what it was 10 years ago yeah we start later and deliver more parcels but the job is still more or less the same. These new DPR duties have been ditched in my office after a few weeks.
There will be employment for anybody who still wants to work for Royal Mail especially on delivery and let’s be honest if it was so horrible we would have all left by now.

Changes in allowances (wouldn't it past RM to try and axe the lot), breaks being made unpaid. Them two will affect both MCs and DOs equally. SISO getting tied to payroll (that would affect DOs more than MC). I'm sure that there's other stuff that RM might try over the next couple of yearsNickvilla20 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 15:19What has actually changed or could change with the job?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 13:58Apart from the pay rise what certainty have we still got? They probably will but it won’t do anything to turn the company around if anything more will leave to better to employment.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 16:53Changes in allowances (wouldn't it past RM to try and axe the lot), breaks being made unpaid. They don’t really need to attack so called legacy staff now they’ve got their way with the new contracts. Within 10 years the majority will be on new contacts as many will leave or be paid off.
You can’t worry about ifs and buts nobody knows the future.

There's got to be a threshold at which they'll just go and force everyone onto the new contracts who isn't already on one

Undermining the union doesn’t help, which is why I never understand why people on here do it so frequently, unless they have an agenda of course. We need them to maintain a presence in our workplaces for that very reason. To protect our conditions.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 19:28There's got to be a threshold at which they'll just go and force everyone onto the new contracts who isn't already on one

Because much of the workforce are selfish and only in it for themselves. To much of an I’m alright Jack attitude and if things don’t go their way they blame the so called useless union reps.LouBarlow wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023, 05:05Undermining the union doesn’t help, which is why I never understand why people on here do it so frequently, unless they have an agenda of course. Some of it is our own fault why we have ended up where we are if only we listened to the union when they asked us to do the job properly and start on time them maybe the situation wouldn’t have been a bad as it ended up as.

I think in many DOs the union effectively doesn't exist. On our union board it shows who holds what union position covering the MC and all the DOs covered by the MC. Probably over 3/4 of the DOs don't have a repNickvilla20 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023, 05:44Because much of the workforce are selfish and only in it for themselves. That wouldn’t surprise me. I mean who would want to be a union rep when you get grief from the management and the people you represent and all for zero pay. Just look at the stick Martin has got on here for example for a unionised workforce we aren’t very united maybe it’s a sign of modern times and unions have had their day.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023, 06:08I think in many DOs the union effectively doesn't exist. We really should be more thankful. The menu was: starve or turd sandwich. Bon appetit!Nickvilla20 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023, 06:19Just look at the stick Martin has got on here for example for a unionised workforce we aren’t very united maybe it’s a sign of modern times and unions have had their day.

Re: CWU REPS BRIEFING ISSUE 2: UPDATE ON TALKS WITH ROYAL MAIL GROUP
I see the No Brigade are active again doing their usual scaremongering, no doubt deeply frustrated that a massive 70% of the work force voted for continuity, stability and common sense.
The misguided and savage No Brigade would have had us all continuing in the pointless and disastrous strikes, which helped nobody, and further contributing to undermining Royal Mail and all our jobs.
Why don't this mob just crawl back under the stone from whence they came

You just know the vote result will be blamed for anything and everything going forward. They are here to stay unfortunately.jahbalon wrote: ↑05 Sep 2023, 02:58I see the No Brigade are active again doing their usual scaremongering, no doubt deeply frustrated that a massive 70% of the work force voted for continuity, stability and common sense.
