The hats used to be ordered through uniform and they are the type like the austrailian croc has. Supposed to keep the sun off the face and neck.
I believe that they should also supply sun cream for you to use. It was in the courier a while ago.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thought you could order those cricketing ones on the uniform hot line if you wanted. I don't too windy oop north and they get blown off too easily.

LATER STARTS!

Post by mdtomuk »

I BET WE COULD START LATER DURING THE WEEK, BUT STICK WITH THE EARLIER TIMES ON SATURDAYS. I BET THE MAIL CENTRES AND DRIVERS WOULDN'T MIND. IN FACT I CAN ONLY SEE ONE STICKING POINT - CAN ANYONE GUESS? YEP - TIS THE MANAGEMENT!! ALSO, IT WOULD BE COOL IF WE DIDNT HAVE TO TAKE THE 'MAILSORT IN DISGUISE' RUBBISH. I FIND THAT MOST OFF THE MGMT I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO HAVE KNOWN ARE TOTALLY AFRAID OF MAKING A DECISION. WHEN I USED TO WORK IN BANKING A FAVE BUZZ SENTENCE WAS ' IF YOU DO THIS FOR ME, I WILL DO THIS FOR YOU'. IT WORKED AND IT COULD WORK AGAIN (this guy really wanders of the main-lines! ed!) :cuppa

JUST LIKE TO SAY THIS??????

if we start before our start times we are giving royal mail the money not us. they are making money from workers by not claiming overtime

i start at 05.15 and finnish at 13.15 .

if i have more mail to go past my time i

1 cut off

2 claim overtime .

ps

do not forget to take your meal relief before you leave.

cwu should stop later starts ??????????

its a fact that 60% of mail arrives at mail centres at midnight so there is no reason for later starts.

yes at doncaster now they want to move the start times to 06.15 ????????

doncaster deliverys are in the mail centre so there is no need for later starts.

80% of the mail by 0200

at stage 3 disagreement so its all at HQs to deal with.

thats why we need the yes vote. :dance

i hope you lads an lasses are prepared to be sold out by cwu hq. the talk from above is that later starts are inevitable, its just a matter of price. if you really want to stop forced later starts then the only real option is to walk over this issue and not over the smokescreen which is pay.
