Postman Helps Deliver Own Daughter

POSTMAN Brett McLeod made a very special delivery - his own baby daughter.

Brett's fiancee Rhian was taken by surprise when new arrival Kirsten made a sudden appearance at home.

She shouted for help to Brett, who yesterday said 6lb 4oz Kirsten just "shot out" into his arms.

Brett, 30, then made sure the special "package" was kept safe until paramedics arrived to take mum and baby to Stirling Royal Infirmary.

Rhian, 26, who lives with Brett in Stenhousemuir, near Falkirk, was in labour for three days before first daughter Emily was born a year ago.

So she didn't think it was urgent when her contractions started and she texted Brett at work.

Rhian, a golf club greenkeeper, said: "I was walking about the flat in agony when Brett came home.

But the contractions were still quite far apart.

"Then suddenly I needed to go to the toilet and thought I was going to explode.

"When I looked down, I could see the baby's head, so I shouted for Brett."

Brett, who works at the Bathgate sorting office in West Lothian, said: "I got through to the ambulance.

"When I went back into the bathroom, Rhian was kneeling down and the baby just shot out into my arms.

"The cord was still attached, so I had to stay kneeling with the baby cradled in my arms. My nephew was in the house and I shouted on him to get towels."

A Royal Mail spokesman said: "Our postmen and women are all experts at making deliveries but this really was an extra special delivery by Brett."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
