I think Royal Mail are smart enough to know that scrapping the lump sums would mean that all bets were off and the business would descend into a chaotic mess of local walkouts.

Unless you're a real tin hat wearer I doubt they're willing to risk that in the middle of a recruitment crisis that isn't getting any better.

Ideas for saving money?? We used to have team leaders back in the day. Instead of COMs fudging the figures, get them out delivering!! A surefire way of reducing the numbers of management as none of them like deliveries.........
