You are right, it shouldn't have been signed off, but then it isn't your Area Rep who is on this forum crowing about what a master stroke it was.wakkono wrote:if were not supposed to be doing any of this why has our area rep signed it off ?

However, some of us prefer not to share ours with the wider community!!!wakkono wrote:OPINIONS ARE LIKE ARSEHOLES ....... EVERYBODY HAS ONE !!!!!
It isn't an issue for us, in order to save the 19000 hours as per the DOMs proposal, (only needs to be 10000), over something like the 95 working days which constitutes Summer we would need to save 200 hours per day. I'm not sure that we'd get 25 full-timers to work for free every day throughout summer for £400. We've probably got around 75 FT so they'd need to work 2 days per week for free for sixteen weeks, i.e 32 days work for £400.
Any takers...

Exactly , we've gained Area Wide agreements in all functions in the branch. Reps have stuck to these and there have been no real issues.POSTMAN wrote:The agreement,i presume the reps would of got a f***ing copy, and i'm sure most if not all reps would be in contact with their branch.
So TBF to blame hayes and ward for some of the shite going down is a bit too much IMO.
If reps or branches can't get their act together, then what hope have we got.

Flexible?
Im sure the majority of posties are already flexible and have been for some time. In our office we are being asked to agree to some wacky stuff. Monday 6 - 1.30, Tuesday 6 - 1., wednesday 6 - 2, Thursday 6 - 2.45, Friday 6-2.45, Saturday 6 - 1. we have a rotated day off as usual. Mail truck and missort run times wont change so now i have 2 3/4 hours to do a 3 1/2 hour delivery. Oh well, i will be pounding the street for 45 mins less on a Monday. As far as i can tell fine detail negotiations arent going well and agreement cannot be met. I say f**k it agree to it and then wait for it to all go tits up. I look forward to seeing the fat, dumbarse monkeys come knuckle dragging out of their enclosures, scratching there heads wondering what the f**k is going on.
Give em enough rope.

Perhaps you'd like to share the agreements details and then we may have a nation wide agreement if those details are acceptable of course - but I should warn you we won't be working for nothing. I'd also like to know if you think the idea of working for 1 day without pay IS acceptable under the agreement and if you still think the pay and modernisation agreement (with local agreements) is still a good idea.lovejoy wrote:Exactly , we've gained Area Wide agreements in all functions in the branch. Re: Flexible?
Surely your times for thursday & friday are wrong. Town deliveries are not allowed to deliver later than 2pm. Rurals are 3pm, so you would be cutting it close with them.OverloadedUK wrote:Im sure the majority of posties are already flexible and have been for some time. Does anyone have the full version of LTB 081/08. Could come in handy for speaking to DOM.tpost wrote:LTB 081/08 - Pay and Modernisation – Phase 2 Deployment
05 February 2008
It has been jointly clarified that there are no restrictions or limits on what is trialled under Phase 3 providing it meets the objectives listed in the Agreement e.g. new arrangements to cover for one another and develop sensible options to absorb absences and increased workload where time exists within normal hours. On the basis of this clarification and the progress that has been made in many local Units over the last few days, Area Managers will be advised not to refuse to sign off Phase 2 plans simply because they do not include Outdoor work in the final enabler as the Outdoor element should be picked up by the trials.
This is part of a LTB which says "Area Managers will be advised not to refuse to sign off Phase 2 plans simply because they do not include Outdoor work in the final enabler as the Outdoor element should be picked up by the trials".
So why are offices signing up to absorb outdoor work at this stage. Yes you are being shafted

Re: Flexible?
Contact Postcon and tell them. RM can be fined for that and Im pretty sure that higher powers within RM will be asking questions of your DOM as to why they have been fineddisgruntledpostie1 wrote:It's the classic RM goalpost movingBroxi51 wrote:Surely your times for thursday & friday are wrong. There is no need for a copy of the agreement because all RM will do is shaft us again and again and it's all thanks to our union leadership who sold us out and not forgetting those who voted yes just to get a little bit of extra money

It wouldn't make a jot of difference if Leighton and Crozier were sacked and some other incompetent people who know nothing about public service were appointed. Royal Mail think that if they want to get fundemental changes to people's working lives pushed through, all they have to do is bung those people a token sum (e.g. £175 for Pay & Modernisation, £400 for flexibility) and enough people who care only about the short-term money will vote YES to swamp the No voters and those people who can't be arsed to vote at all.wakkono wrote: we dont know all the pros and cons and all the nitty gritty this was put to us and recomended by area rep so we agreed to it
If someone wanted me to vote on something that requires me to give up any of my time for free, I'd want a bloody good look at all the 'nitty gritty' to ensure I wasn't being shafted. Unfortunately, too many postmen are their own worst enemy and just grab the cash no matter what they have to give up for it

do i understand this right. If you have a Saturday off you work 41 hours a week. 1 hours unpaid overtime a week sounds like slavery to me, only for an hour yes but still slavery. Over a weeks wages a year given to Allan and adam and all the dignity and respect you can lose.grizzleandtan wrote:in shipley thursday and fridays are 2.30 finishes,mon-wed are 2pm and sat is 12.30 the union rep and manager told us if we agree to come in at 5.45 instead of 6.00 we would get the £400
