you will not have a finish time soon when they make you work to a finish/completion as they wanted ! and if you do not complete they will suspend/sack you , and what are this useless union going to do ? NOTHING !
I’m fascinated to see your mental gymnastics trying to figure out how they can force you to work unlimited hours in this agreement.

The size of our walks are now unbelievable and I personally haven’t completed mine for 20 months. They are scheduled to take the parcels off us in a few weeks and so want another 100+ hours from the office, making the walks even more massive. They are hoping to save time with packet loss plus when the seasonal working starts in September, we’ll get somewhere near. Don’t think so myself, our mail hasn’t even reduced during the last few weeks so god knows what it will be like in the autumn and run in to Xmas..
Start time to finish time, couldn’t care less these days.

Isn’t there laws against forcing people to work over their paid hours ,OT etc?
There's a provision in your contract about making yourself available to work over which is so vaguely worded and poorly defined that going one minute over your time once a year should honour it. It's only really there for management to scare new starts into staying out late.
The machine stops.

That is right folks. Enjoy 12+ hour days because you voted for an agreement that made literally no mention of any such cobblers. If you had voted no, we would all be back to those glory days where we were home and done with our feet up by 11am. Thanks yes voters.

How long will it be before the hubs start sending your oversize back to you when they've not got enough staff to clear their own work?

Our hub has already said they aren't taking our oversized. But we are still losing walks as well. I have given up caring now, and I just think it's funny. They can add on another 2 walks to my frame if they like, Because when my finish time arrives I'm outta there. Regardless of how much is left.

When we're walk sorting the mech on wave 2, it's very easy to see changes in the number of walks on a batch. During the last round of walk mergers, one batch went from 12 walks to 6 walks, with no sign of walks for that DO being moved to other batches

We have had several walks removed from the office and it means that walks fail on a daily basis. On a Saturday they purposely have less staff in so that mail is left in the frames ready for a Monday.

For all those who are suggesting that you just work your hours, that is all well and good as the business are using SISO data to try and assess peoples duties. However, Royal Mail desperately want to bring in 30 minutes flexibility in the agreement on top of the seasonal variations. It was mentioned in previous agreements as Royal Mail are trying to make YOU responsible for clearing your frame instead of the managers. It is one aspect of the agreement that many people have probably overlooked and it may have a big impact on your future working life.

If they make me flex my time then my attitude will flex too!

Currently I go like the clappers every single day. Walking at a very past pace. It's a route to an accident really. But, I appreciate getting paid to do aerobic exercise. There's a certain satisfaction completing a physical challenge on time or just over.

That being said, there's a limit and if they make the walks impossible to complete I'll walk at my normal pace. If they make me flex 30 minutes I can do that if I'm getting paid. I'd rather not but it comes down to this - They can have 4.5 hours at fast pace or 5 hours at normal pace - my personal productivity is at a limit and that's it.

Could be like in our DO that a lot of the increase in the size of the delivery is still classed as lapsing

Aren't you just scaremongering? I doubt are going to pay everybody 30 mins plus OT to flex every day, or TOIL it, and they can't make staff work for free.

The 30 mins flex is neither paid overtime or time off in lieu. What Royal Mail want to do, in exceptional circumstances, is expect workers to do extra and then give them that time back during the week.

I'm saying that we need to be aware that flexibility was in a previous agreement and it's now in this one. I thought flexibility was entirely voluntary, but it's in this deal that RM will consider and determine how SISO data can be used to apply this flexible arrangement to develop a revised formalised approach.
