Re: Revenue up
Looking at the figures in detail our parcel volumes were down mainly due to test kits. However, whilst they say that addressed letters are down 30% since pre pandemic; by actually putting the prices up on letters, particularly on business mail, has meant a stronger revenue performance. What this tells me is that letters are still very important to the business and it's just a shame that the company don't want to deliver it when they should in order to save costs.
The main areas of concern for Royal Mail seems to be sick absence and targeted recruitment. And further revisions to improve productivity and... quality of service
The interesting thing is that GLS revenue growth was 7.4% year on year in the first quarter and as a group it actually generated more revenue in total if you compare the same periods to last year.
