Business Recovery, Transformation & Growth (BRT&G) Agreement – Paragraph 6.4 – Attendance
Branches and Representatives will be aware Royal Mail Group (RMG) last week issued a factsheet on how they intend to manage the new sick Attendance standards. This factsheet was not agreed by the union and was not provided in advance of publication. Indeed, we have serious concerns about a number of aspects which we have raised with management.
It is critical we provide absolute clarity to everyone in regard to Paragraph 6.4 of the BRT&G Agreement, Therefore, we will be holding a Joint Workshop with senior RMG management on Friday 21st July with the aim of seeking to agree the transitional arrangements from the previous standards to support the introduction of the new standards from 1st August.
Should we reach agreement at this workshop, we will be placing this before the Postal Executive and further communications will follow.
Finally, we have a joint commitment to reduce sick levels across the company via appropriate and reasonable means and we will be working together with RMG on this key aspect of the BRT&G Agreement via the Joint Working Group outlined within Paragraph 6.4. Part of this week’s Joint Workshop from our perspective is to get to a position where we launch the JWG.

Unbelievable,CWU implored us to vote yes and Royal Mail have gone rogue already, that union needs a clear out from top to bottom.

Fantastic, got a letter today saying my stage 1 which clears in 3 weeks will be extended by another 6 months thanks to new policy.

Royal Mail may be cocky now but I wouldn’t get too confident if I were them. Dave Ward is writing a strongly worded letter from his sunbed in the Maldives and the postal executive is about to embark on a 163 day consultation on what action to take next.
Rumour has it Wards letter has 23 paragraphs and 16 additional super duper important appendixes. Ward expects a reply from Royal Mail no later than 23rd March 2024. Hold onto your hats.

We knew this would happen. Once the Union agreed to this shocking deal; Royal Mail would be coming for everything else lock, stock and two smoking barrels.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

All us no voters try to tell people a yes vote would be the end of the cwu we havent any power left anymore as we said hold on tight gonna be a bumpy ride they are gonna chuck everything at us and we are powerless to stop them sad

In case anyone was wondering why it's going to take so long for RM to pay out the lump sums... does it all make sense now?
It's the phantom share scheme all over again! They're worth money, they're worth money, they're worth money... payout time "erm no they aren't worth any money"!
The only reason RM wanted a deal agreed was so they could break it! Now they'll argue with the CWU and before you know it no more bung money!
Voted no and still not convince I was wrong to do so!
