Re: CANCELLING UNION SUBS = SECOND SICK ABSENCE FREE
Like the union ask the memberships not to do o.t the same as they would have asked them to withdraw labour as in striking i get some would have still done o.t same as some crossed picket line during a strike not saying it would have worked but surely worth a try.

You have every right to it. But to abandon the union now is hypocritical beyond belief and I will call you out on it.

Re: CANCELLING UNION SUBS = SECOND SICK ABSENCE FREE
So you're saying that it's okay for you to slip up and expect the union to come rescue you but not anyone else? Wow, I'd avoid you like the damn plague. To be part of a union and yet be all for management to pick others apart because they chose to not go on strike for whatever reason is laughably hypocritical.

So loubarlow said earlier he presumed stevezaf2 should donate his lump sum to charity because he came out of the union and yet on his last post he said stevezaf2 is entitled to it what a nob people are coming out of the union because the union is finished they aint going to win anymore fights so the union won us a lump sum but lost all our terms and conditions and we are all going to suffer because of you yes voters

Lou , you are such a self righteous dipstick. You are selective with your facts to suit your narrative.LouBarlow wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 21:05You have every right to it. But to abandon the union now is hypocritical beyond belief and I will call you out on it.
FACT 1 - The union offered £500 & 6% initially - You were clapping , claiming best deal available - take it , take it , take it , it won't get better.
FACT 2- Huge uproar from us NO voters concerned the union immensely to delay the vote.
Fact 3 - Due to the NO voters a magic wand was waved and an extra £900 was magically found.
YOU ARE A TOTAL HYPOCRITE - You should give that extra £900 that you didn't fight for to charity . It's people like you who doesn't deserve it .

Re: CANCELLING UNION SUBS = SECOND SICK ABSENCE FREE
I haven’t been part of the union for 20 years or so now. I was a strike breaker. I didn’t get to vote yes or no.
I don’t see the point in blaming people who vote yes. The deal was recommended by the union and was pretty similar to the deal offered by RM many months ago.
But I would say to people thinking of leaving, make sure you know your job. The management will look for easy pickings and if you are the sort of person that doesn’t like confrontation and feel it’s hard to say no when the manager asks you to complete then you may need the union. It’s still good for that.

Absolutely right Claystone . While many hardcore members leave the company or union - it will be left to the Lou's & Aiden's of this company to pick up the WHITE flag that Dave Fraud drops , when fleeing the country with his huge sacks of members cash. These gutless members will continue to say " other companies have it worse " . Before you know it , we are one of those other companies.claystones wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 22:32Just because the deal was recommended by the cwu doesnt mean it was the right call they have feathered there own nest when royal mail come gunning for us what fight can the union put up the answer is nothing we have lost the battle hold on tight posties we are in for a bumpy ride its going downhill from here and the yes vote hasnt helped
I have NO regrets leaving this incompetent union.
I now look under my pillow every night , hoping that the tooth fairies leave the £3500 that I have sadly paid them over the years.

I guess you're not very senior then? I've worked it out at just under 7 grand, and it's been worth every penny.postieblueshirt wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 23:31steve2zaf wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 23:28Absolutely right Claystone . WOW , you're such a hero . I expect you swagger around the office wearing your stripes and medals. I will have to dust off my old military suit and salute your seniority.sweepster70 wrote: ↑16 Jul 2023, 00:45I guess you're not very senior then? No, there's people more senior than me who I respect far more. You start off at the bottom and you work your way up. I guess you're one of the fuckwits who don't believe in seniority?steve2zaf wrote: ↑16 Jul 2023, 00:57WOW , you're such a hero . OK so how many weeks paid leave have you had in that period?postieblueshirt wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 23:31steve2zaf wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 23:28Absolutely right Claystone . How many paid breaks have you taken advantage over the years?
How many times have you been unfortunate enough to not be fit to work and remained on full pay for that period?
How many pay rises have you received that has kept our pay higher than the average for what is considered 'unskilled work'?
Take the time to work out your £4,000 figure after taking all that into account.
Those that want to or are leaving the union are of course entitled to and shouldn't be lambasted for doing so but to make out this union has been a hinderence rather than a help to their members is not true.
Other unions look on in envy at our structure and influence in the workplace.
A representative in each and every unit if the interest is there.
This deal still upholds that structure.
Let's not forget Royal Mail's plan ultimately was to turn Royal Mail into another gig economy employer with no union representation in the workplace.
Answer this, if the union are so financially damaging to their members why did the company spend all that money and projected lost revenue to systematically dismantling it during this dispute?
Bigger picture!

Erm, no you haven’t been paying attention. I claimed ‘best deal available’ after the agreement was reached and presented to us members.steve2zaf wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 21:42Lou , you are such a self righteous dipstick. In effect, I actually fought harder for the £900 than you, as I actively campaigned on here for a yes vote, and fortunately at least a few people listened to me, with the result an overwhelming yes, thus securing more money for everyone. You are welcome.
As to coming out of the union - I think it is just a hissy fit being thrown by people who are sour that the vote didn’t go their way. A protest that will get them nowhere. I hope that the leavers are ready to start kissing manager ring, and start coming in early and working for free, as workers with no union support are going to be actively targeted by management going forward.
Not working fast enough? Good luck fighting your corner with no union support. I hope your colleagues turn away and shun you too as they appreciate how you are weakening all of our workplace power with your petty move, all because a vote didn’t go your way. Boo hoo.
