i have my opinions and my views on alot of things, some which may be considered contervertial.sweepster70 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 22:08No probs. I have no problem with people voting yes or no. I do have a problem with the non democratic who still talk s**t.
as i have mentioned above in previous posts, i was a strong NO voter, mainly due to the sick pay and IHR side, i also not a fan of the lump sum payments, as i am of the camp that Lump sums are not as good as if those lump sums were consolodated into our actual hourly rate.
i am certainly not happy with the result, i dont mind admitting to this, but i not one to spit the dummy out just becuase things didnt go the way i wanted them to.
theres many many things i could touch on, as to why i think we as a union are in this position now, but this would just be my opinion and we are all entilted to them.
what ever happens from now on i wish no ill feelings towards any collegue or that.
good luck bro

It would have been much better if we were getting the lump sums sooner I must agree.
It's all right kidding and swanking when you have a few bob in your pocket.

Sadly i wont have a choice soon as RM are forcing me out the door (due to a disability) after 10 years of service. the last 2 years ive had 100% attendance. just showing you reasons as to why i came to my decision is allsweepster70 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 22:35The only choice you have is to leave Royal Mail. if you're choice is to leave the Union, then you're making our collective bargaining weaker.

Re: Pay & Lump Sum Timetable
Not necessarily as according to what Zareena has said, all you really need to do now is just hold out till after 4th August and they'll pay you back the lump sum regardless if you've left the company or not. Whether this is legally binding is a different question since union and the company tend to avoid answering these questions for obvious reasonsFoxel wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 19:23RM's Problem
The forecasted number of staff losses after the payout is detrimental to the operation of the company. Recruitment is proving far more difficult than expected. Once traffic increases rounds designed to push staff limits will fail catastrophically. The current target of customer growth (win back) with fail. Share price and shareholder confidence will drop.
RM's strategy:
Hold as many outbound staff to ransom over the summer period. Those that fail to acquire employment before the end of September will be hard-pushed to before Christmas, falling into a "might as well get Christmas out the way" mindset. After Christmas, they will again feel the need to stay on across the "quieter" period to earn back extra time previously worked for free.
